Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent times, homes plays a crucial role among the people. It is argued that the best path to give nesessary homes in big cities is to make tall apartment blocks. I firmly agree with this statement because it creates more individual apartments and a large number of people live together under a roof.

There are a variety of reasons why people believe that to build long appartment blocks is the best way to provide enough homes. One possible reason is that it reduce the shortage of house. This is because large cities has not enough land to build a house in individual. For example, Dhaka is the most conjusted area in Bangladesh, which has not enough land to make a house in metropoliton area and that's why builders company create different types of tall apartment blocks where a large number of people live together under a one roof by dividing each apartment or flat. Consequently, it may helps people to find out their living space and reduce the shortage of home.

Another significant reason is that it creates individual flat owners where they have much freedom than a rental house. This is primarily because builders company build a tall and strong apartment blocks and the individual people buy these apartment from them with a legal way. By making tall apartment blocks in higher cities, it usually reduce apartment owners utility work pressure and give them freedom including decision making of apartments than rental house. As a result, buyers have stay thehe more comportably and it provide enough homes in large cities.

In conclusion, although tall apartment blocks has few demerits, it has a number of benefits prticularly reduce the shortage of house and creates a individual destination. That's why, I completely agree with this statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction (“I firmly agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons: high-rise buildings can use scarce urban land efficiently, and purchasing a flat may offer residents more independence than renting. The Dhaka example helps illustrate the first point. However, the second reason is less directly connected to the claim that tall blocks are the best way to provide enough homes: ownership and freedom do not explain as clearly how more housing is supplied. Some claims, such as reduced “utility work pressure,” are also unclear or insufficiently explained. Develop each reason with a clearer link to housing capacity and support it with specific consequences or examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from limited land to apartment construction is understandable, and signposts such as “For example,” “Another significant reason,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. However, some connections are mechanical, and several sentences contain unclear references or relationships. For instance, “it may helps people to find out their living space” does not clearly explain the preceding point, while the link between owning a flat and providing enough homes is not fully established. Use cohesive devices more naturally and make each paragraph’s central claim explicit, then ensure every supporting sentence clearly develops that claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “shortage,” “metropolitan area,” “apartment blocks,” and “individual flat owners,” so the reader can generally follow your subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make parts of the response difficult to interpret. Examples include “conjusted,” “builders company,” “a individual destination,” and “stay thehe more comportably.” Repetition of “tall apartment blocks,” “homes,” and “house” also limits flexibility. Aim for more precise housing vocabulary and check spelling and natural word combinations. For example, explain whether you mean housing supply, residential density, or residents’ independence rather than relying on vague phrases such as “utility work pressure.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause (“This is because…”) and a relative clause describing Dhaka. This gives the response some structural variety, and the main ideas are usually understandable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction recur. Examples include “homes plays,” “it reduce,” “large cities has,” and “it may helps”; these should be “homes play,” “it reduces,” “large cities have,” and “it may help.” There are also awkward constructions such as “people have stay thehe more comportably.” Review subject–verb agreement and modal verb patterns, and simplify sentences when needed so that complex ideas remain clear and controlled.
