Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that homes in large cities is to be build tall apartments to utilise the need and prove a particular space to each family members. I am totally agree with this high apartment point of view as it also provide accomodation for the peoples works nearby.

The main advantage of tall buildings are for those people who work in area and searching for accomodation and these tall apartment can be usefull to save their time and travel.

For example people who are living in mumbai like cities try to make their home and apartments for several reasons it could be money, service and any other facility which help other people to take their rental and useful to this plan

It is way better to make these types of apartments and share the things like elevator, parking, parks and other stuff which could be helpful in daily life of each person to buying land and then making single house. Apartments could become a good source of income for peoples.

And on other hand it also hold some of disadvantages for the people who can't afford thes type of high rised rented houses for their living so this can't be solution for each and everyone. As we all often know that urban cities have high cost of apartments.

So overall i can say that thatt building can be a effective way to save many things it could provide help in finance, save time and travel of the peoples living but it could also hold some kind of drawback leads to many confict this talk.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear in the opening: you agree that tall apartment buildings are a good way to provide housing, and you also acknowledge that they may be unaffordable for some residents. You give relevant reasons, including shorter commutes and shared facilities such as elevators and parking. However, the discussion remains partial because these points are mostly asserted rather than explained, and the example about Mumbai is difficult to follow and does not clearly show how high-rise construction meets housing demand. The affordability drawback is also introduced but not developed or weighed against your main argument. To strengthen the response, explain how building upwards creates more homes on limited urban land and support each main point with a clear, specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraphs, a counterpoint and a conclusion. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear: the first body paragraph combines workers’ accommodation, travel time and the unclear Mumbai example, while the next shifts to shared facilities and income without a clear link between them. Connectors such as “And on other hand” and “So overall” signal transitions, but the relationships between ideas are sometimes difficult to follow, and “this talk” in the conclusion does not clearly refer to a specific point. Give each paragraph one main purpose, use clearer references, and explain how each example supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “tall buildings,” “accommodation,” “elevator,” “parking” and “urban cities,” so the subject is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “prove a particular space,” “take their rental” and “hold some of disadvantages.” Spelling errors, including “accomodation,” “usefull” and “confict,” also reduce accuracy. These problems sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to understand. Build a more precise set of housing and urban-planning expressions, and check spelling and word forms carefully. For example, use “provide housing” rather than “prove a particular space,” and “rent an apartment” rather than “take their rental.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a concession beginning “And on other hand” and a relative clause in “facility which help other people.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms frequently make the message harder to follow. Examples include “homes in large cities is,” “I am totally agree,” “these tall apartment can be usefull,” and “it also hold some of disadvantages.” Some sentences also run together without clear punctuation, particularly the Mumbai example and the final sentence. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add clauses with correct agreement and punctuation. For instance: “Tall apartment buildings provide homes for people who work nearby.”
