Student answer (Band 5.5)
People believe that urbanisation is increasing rapidly. They started moving to large cities, it is believed that the best way to offer enough homes in larger cities is to construct high rise apartment blocks. In this essay we will discuss why I strongly agree this statement because high rise buildings can you limited land in effective way and enough houses to many people and cost of living is affordable.
To begin with, the major advantage is tall apartemnts they help to save the land. By constructing 100 flats in a tall building. This is because in large cities such as Delhi, Hydrabad the availability of land is limited to build independent houses. Day by day people from rural areas are moving to urban areas based on different works, the population is increasing. By constructing high raise building blocks large number of families can live in a small area. For example, largely populated city like Mumbai, can provide shulter to many families by using apartment blocks method if not only a few families can live. So developing tall buildings is effective way to adress the major problem which is increase in population.
Another important reason is that apartments make housing more affordable. By constructing a single building the cost of land is reduced. In addition, essential facilities such as water, electricity will also be provided. As a result, government should start constructing apartments in major cities and make it affordable where middle class people can easily survive a good quality of life.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that tall building blocks is most effictive way to provide enough homes in large cities. This is because we can use limited land and make it affordable by many people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes, and you give two relevant reasons—using limited land efficiently and making housing more affordable. The examples of Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai help connect your argument to large cities. However, the affordability point is less fully explained than the land-use point: you say that building costs are reduced and facilities are provided, but do not show clearly how these savings make homes affordable to middle-income residents. Some claims, such as the government being able to provide a good quality of life, would also benefit from specific support. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation or example to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs each focus on a relevant reason, and linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “In addition” and “As a result” help signal the progression. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “By constructing 100 flats in a tall building. This is because…” leaves the first idea as a fragment, while the relationship between reduced land costs and affordability could be made more explicit. The opening also shifts awkwardly from urbanisation to the essay’s position. Use complete sentences and clearer links between claims and explanations to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “urbanisation,” “availability of land,” “population” and “essential facilities,” and the meaning is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and collocation errors reduce precision, such as “high raise building blocks,” “provide shulter,” “adress” and “effective way.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “make it affordable by many people” and “survive a good quality of life.” Aim for accurate topic-specific collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise wording would help you express the same ideas clearly without relying repeatedly on “building,” “people” and “cities.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “This is because” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” The main argument remains understandable, but some sentence structures are faulty. “They started moving to large cities, it is believed…” joins ideas without a suitable grammatical connection, and “By constructing 100 flats in a tall building” is a sentence fragment. There are also errors in agreement and sentence construction, as in “tall building blocks is” and “high rise buildings can you limited land.” Work on forming complete sentences, controlling clauses and checking subject–verb agreement. Greater accuracy in these areas would make your ideas easier to follow.
