Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 2.5
The response mentions the topic of tall apartment blocks and signals that there are advantages and disadvantages, but it does not clearly answer whether you agree or disagree. Most of the discussion shifts to technology, which is not the question, and the claims about housing are too unclear to count as developed reasons or relevant examples. For instance, “multi studies have proved” is not followed by a specific finding, and the conclusion simply repeats the prompt rather than stating a supported position. The response is also below the required 250 words: 187 words were counted, with 48 words copied from the prompt excluded. To improve, state your position directly and develop two relevant points about housing supply, supported with concrete examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response into an introduction, a main discussion and a conclusion, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the contrary” and “In conclusion” show an awareness of paragraph progression. However, the ideas do not develop in a clear sequence: the first body section discusses technology, then the next shifts abruptly to housing and returns to technology. Some linking phrases therefore do not express the relationship between the ideas accurately. The conclusion is also difficult to follow, particularly “It is mixed bag of positive and negatives is impossible.” Build each paragraph around one relevant housing point, explain it in order, and use linking expressions only where their meaning fits.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response attempts some topic-related and formal vocabulary, including “modern society,” “negative impacts,” “various field” and “considered,” so it shows more than a very basic range. However, word choice and spelling are often inaccurate or repetitive, and several phrases are unclear or unsuitable for the housing topic. Examples include “There would be to facts,” “purposal,” “multi studies” and “prosand cons.” Repeating “the best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks” does not add useful vocabulary or detail. Aim for precise terms connected to housing, such as housing supply, residential density and land use, and check spelling and natural word combinations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “Although” is not present, but you do use clauses such as “which we discussing in upcoming paragraphs.” The response also includes some understandable simple statements, for example, “All these factors have significantly ensured that we must keep developing new technology for our future.” However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction frequently make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “society have developed,” “which we discussing,” and “why many are against build tall apartment blocks.” Punctuation spacing and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent. Practise forming complete clauses, checking subject–verb agreement, and using verb patterns such as “against building” or “oppose building.”
