Student answer (Band 5.5)

CONSTRUCTING HIGH APARTMENT IN HUGE AREA THE BEST WAY TO PROVIDE HOMES TO MANY PEOPLE.

THEIR ARE VARIOUS HARMONY WHICH TELL US THAT TALL BUILDINGS HAS TS OWN IMPORTANCE.ITS PROVIDE TO USE THE LAND IN EFFICIENT WAY,WHICH HELP TO MAINTAIN THE ECOSYSTEM OF ENIVIROMENT AND OTHER ANIMALS. IF THEIR ARE HUGE APARTMENT IN SMALL AREA, EVENTUALY THE COST OF HOUSING WILL BE MUCH MORE AFFORDABLE. ITS WILL ALSO BENEFIT TO ACCOMODATE THE GROWING POPULATION IN SPECIFIC AREA WHILE MAINTAINING THE RESOURCES. CONVENIENT LOCATION FOR MANY WORKING PROFESSIONAL AS THEY LIVE NEAR THE LOCATION. IT WILL ALSO PROVIDE SOLUTION FOR GLOBEL WARNING, SPECIALY NOICE AND AIR POLLUTION.

WHILE I CAN SEE SOME DROUGBACK OF LIVING IN HUGE APARTEMENT. TO MANY PEOPLE OR RESIDENT CAN PRESURRE THE SUPPLY OF WATER, ELECTRICITY AS WELL AS PUBLIC TRANSPORT.THEIR WILL BE LACK OF PRIVACY AND CAN SEE THE SHORTAGE OF OPEN SPACE SUCH AS GARDEN, TEMPLE, PLAYGROUND ETC. MAINTAINES COST OF THIS HIGH RISE BUILDING WILL BE MUCH MORE PREMIUM AS ELEVATORS AND OTHER SHARED FACILITIES REQUIRE REGULAR MAINTENANCE, AND IF THEIR IS A PROBLEM IN THE WEALTH DISTIBUTION OF THE CITY, IT WILL BE FAR TOUGHT FOR RESIDENT TO MAINTAIN THEIR LIFESTYLE. GOVERMENT SHOULD TAKE ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION TO RELOCATE PEOPLE WHILE MAINTING THE ECOSYTEM, GOVERNMENT CAN DEVELOP SATELLITE TOWNS, IMPROVE PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND CONSTRUCT AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN SUBURBAN AREA.

IN CONCLUSION, I LARGELY AGREE THAT CONSTRUCTION TALL APARTMENT BLOCKS IN AN EFFECTIVE WAY TO PROVIDE HOUSING FOR GROWING POPULATION. HOWEVER GOVERNMENTS SHOULD ALSO DEVELOP SATELLITE TOWN AND SUSTAINABLE LIVING CONDITION.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you largely support tall apartment blocks, while recognising drawbacks and proposing alternatives. You give relevant reasons, including efficient land use, potentially more affordable housing, and accommodating population growth, then balance these against pressure on utilities, reduced privacy and maintenance costs. This addresses the main task, but some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that high-rise housing will help solve “global warming,” especially noise and air pollution, is unclear and needs a specific link or example. The discussion of satellite towns and suburban housing is relevant, but its relationship to your main position could be made more explicit. Develop fewer points with concrete examples and explain why high-rise construction is the best approach overall.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an opening statement, a paragraph supporting high-rise housing, a paragraph on disadvantages and alternatives, and a conclusion that restates your position. Contrast is signalled with “While,” and the conclusion returns to your central view. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several ideas are compressed into long sequences, while “Convenient location for many working professional” reads as a fragment rather than a complete supporting point. Some connections between claims are also unclear, particularly the move from environmental benefits to affordability and then convenience. Use clearer topic sentences, separate distinct reasons, and make links between cause and effect explicit. More precise referencing would also help readers follow what “it” and “their” refer to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to housing and urban planning, including “efficient way,” “growing population,” “public transport,” “satellite towns,” and “sustainable living condition.” This gives you some useful topic coverage. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make meaning difficult to interpret: “harmony” appears to mean reasons or advantages, “globel warning” may mean global warming, and “wealth distribution” does not clearly express the intended point about residents’ ability to afford upkeep. There are also awkward combinations such as “high apartment” and “maintenance cost … premium.” Build a reliable set of topic-specific collocations and check spelling carefully. Prefer precise, familiar wording over ambitious terms when you are unsure of their meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and more complex structures, including conditional phrasing (“If there are huge apartments in a small area…”) and a contrast between benefits and drawbacks. The overall meaning is often recoverable, but errors in sentence formation and basic grammar recur. For example, “Tall buildings has” has a subject–verb agreement problem, “It’s provide” uses an incorrect verb form, and “Convenient location for many working professional” is not a complete sentence. Articles, plurals and punctuation also need attention; several ideas run together without full stops. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement and singular/plural forms. Greater control of these basics would make your reasoning easier to understand.
