Student answer (Band 6.0)
I think constructing tall apartment blocks to provide enough homes is a great idea. I totally agree with this statement because, by building vertically we save so much space and we can organise our society.
Tall housings can have hundreds of apartments inside them which can house a family, a single person easily. Therefore, atleast hundreds and thousands of people can live in it at the same time. Since the building is built vertically we it doesnt require much land.As a result, much of the land is saved for other things such as commercial buildings,School,Police station,Playing field etc.Requiring less place also means we dont need to destroy natural forest's just to make space for everyone to live in therefore reserving wildlife.
By putting putting a lot of people in the same building we can build a system around it.If we provide security for one building it can protect the thousands of people living inside it.Living in the same apartment block can also encourage people to build a community within themselves and help each other in times of need.It is often seen in these communities people give each other food , celebrate their festival with each other , even become friends and families.
Tall apartment blocks is the best way to counter overpopulation issues since it can greatly reduce the area needed for people to live . It can also play it's part in our social life by encouraging us to bond with other people in the community. For these reasons i agree that building tall apartment blocks is the best way to provide enough homes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the opening: you strongly agree that tall apartment blocks can provide homes efficiently. You give relevant reasons, including saving land for services and green space, protecting forests, and enabling security and community life. These points address the question, but they are not all developed equally. For example, the claim that residents can “build a system around” one building is vague, and the community benefits are asserted rather than supported with a specific example or explanation. The response also treats high-rise construction as the best solution without considering any limitation or explaining why it is preferable to alternatives. Develop each main reason with clearer explanation and a concrete example to make the argument more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present reasons, and the conclusion restates your position. Linking expressions such as “Therefore,” “As a result,” and “For these reasons” help show the relationship between ideas. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. In the second body paragraph, “By putting putting a lot of people in the same building” repeats a word, while “we can build a system around it” does not clearly specify what system you mean. The long list of land uses also interrupts the flow. Organise each paragraph around one precise main idea, use clearer references, and connect examples directly to the point they support.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main argument, including topic-related terms such as “apartment blocks,” “commercial buildings,” “wildlife,” and “community.” There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “counter overpopulation issues.” However, several choices are imprecise or unnatural, which limits the clarity and flexibility of the vocabulary. “Tall housings” is not a natural way to describe the buildings, and “build a system around it” is too vague for this argument. Spelling and word-form errors, including “atleast” and “forest's,” also affect accuracy. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling and word forms; for example, describe the buildings as high-rise apartments and explain specifically what services or facilities they support.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple sentences and longer structures, including a reason clause beginning “Since the building is built vertically” and a result clause introduced by “As a result.” Most of the meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical and punctuation errors recur. For example, “a family, a single person easily” lacks a clear grammatical connection, and “Since the building is built vertically we it doesnt require much land” contains an extra subject and needs punctuation. There are also agreement and sentence-boundary problems in “Tall apartment blocks is the best way,” and several sentences run together without spaces after full stops. Practise checking subject–verb agreement, clause structure, and sentence boundaries while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
