Student answer (Band 5.5)
The greatest way to provide enough homes in broader cities is building long buildings. The ways to provide enough housing and is it beneficial and to what extent i agree will be dicussed. I particularly think that building tall buildings could actually help a lot in cities with less area and huge population. In Explanation,i would prefer telling that it could be very benificial in cities with this type of situations. For Instance,Dubai is the best available example of this process. The population has been increasing rapidly so the authorities have been building tall building which take lesser place and more people could live in it.Instead,of only a simple house being builted. The best outcome could come in this possible way and however,it also make apartments available at low cost as you go up in the buildings. However, some people actually beleive that living in apartments disturbs their privacy.Privacy has been a major concern from the people actually living it the tall buildings apartments. Some people actually want to have privacy at the best level available so instead,of living in the apartments or flats they prefer living in the houses which have better quality of privacy. For Instance, mamy people living in dubai have bought much expensive houses than the very cheaper prized apartments available beacuse in apartments there is always someone coming up or down disturbing the privacy.Furthermore, some people like complete pin drop silence to sleep and any small activity makes them awake leaving them waked up in the mid of dark nights. So,these type of people prefer lliving in houses rather than in apartments and having complete privacy. In conclusion,i agree to some extent with the statement of living in cheaper available apartments rather than living in very expensive houses and would like to spend the money saved on myself. My preference is living in budget-friendly apartments.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear general position in favour of tall apartments, and the Dubai example is relevant: you explain that a growing population can be housed on less land. You also introduce a counterpoint about privacy and explain why some residents prefer houses. However, the response only partly develops the question of whether tall blocks are the best way to provide enough homes. The discussion shifts towards personal preference and cheaper apartments, while the conclusion says you agree only “to some extent” without clarifying what alternative housing methods should also be used. Develop the comparison and explain the limits of apartment construction—for example, infrastructure, overcrowding, or access to services—to make your position more fully supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting apartments, a paragraph presenting privacy concerns, and a conclusion. This gives the reader some organisation, and expressions such as “However” signal a change in direction. Nevertheless, progression is uneven: the opening promises to discuss the issue but does not clearly state the extent of agreement, and the conclusion introduces personal spending preferences rather than drawing together the main arguments. Linking phrases are sometimes repetitive or awkwardly placed, including repeated “For Instance” and “actually,” while several ideas run together in long sentences. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example directly to its point, and make the conclusion restate a consistent position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “population,” “authorities,” “privacy,” and “budget-friendly,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are imprecise or repeatedly used, such as “tall buildings,” “actually,” and “better quality of privacy.” Some word choices and collocations make meaning less natural, for example “long buildings,” “lesser place,” and “cheaper prized apartments.” Spelling errors such as “benificial,” “beleive,” and “beacuse” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of housing and urban-planning terms, and check spelling and collocations; this will help you express comparisons and consequences more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional-style explanation of how tall buildings can accommodate more residents and a sentence beginning “Furthermore.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some passages difficult to follow. Examples include “The ways to provide enough housing and is it beneficial … will be discussed,” where the sentence structure is incomplete, and “it also make apartments available,” where subject–verb agreement is incorrect. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and verb forms, as in “tall building which take” and “being builted.” Practise building accurate sentences around one main clause, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement, tense, and punctuation.
