Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is widely believe that the tall skyscrapper solves the problem of living areas as it has huge number of Apartments in a short area. I agree with this statement because tall apartment provides enough number of houses in a certain area.

The most compelling reason to illustrate my view is that tall skyscrapper provides houses to many families in a certain place which saves the land which is generally for other purposes. For instance, Newyork is one of the most populated town in USA where there is more than hundreds of skyscrapper which was built to solve the problem of living areas as well as to save forest area.

Another point to support my view is that taller buildings also save the part of land which allocate for playground because if the population of any towns or cities are gradually increases then to fixed this issue the country have to to build the houses in the area of playground.Additionally, it also save money for those who want to buy his own house because the cost of one apartment is slightly lower in comparison to built their own house. Moreover, it solve the problem of living far from relatives because in same building they can live if both have bought apaprtment in same tower.

In conclusion, from the points mentioned illustrate that there is numberous advantages of building taller skyscrapper in a country to avoid the problem of scarcity of houses.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment buildings can provide more homes in limited urban space. You give relevant reasons, including preserving land, reducing pressure on playgrounds, lowering housing costs, and allowing relatives to live nearby. The New York example also supports your main point. However, the ideas are mostly asserted rather than explained in detail; for example, the claim that apartments save money is not supported with a specific comparison or explanation. The response also falls 11 words short of the required minimum, and the conclusion mainly repeats the argument. Develop each reason with clearer explanation or a relevant example, and meet the minimum length to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “For instance,” “Another point,” and “Additionally” help signal examples and supporting points. However, the second body paragraph contains several distinct ideas—playground land, house prices, and living near relatives—without enough separation or explanation, so the progression is difficult to follow. Some links are also mechanical, and the conclusion begins abruptly with “from the points mentioned.” Organise each main reason into a clearer sequence, use paragraph breaks when the focus changes, and make references such as “it” and “this issue” more precise so readers can follow how each point connects to the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “skyscraper,” “populated,” “playground,” and “scarcity of houses,” and the intended meaning is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “problem of living areas” and “tall skyscrapper.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “Newyork,” “numberous,” and “living areas,” which is not a natural way to describe a housing shortage. Some combinations are awkward, including “save the part of land” and “fixed this issue.” Build a more precise range of housing and urban-planning vocabulary, check spelling carefully, and learn common collocations so your ideas are expressed more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional structure beginning “if the population of any towns or cities…” and a relative clause in “which saves the land.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some passages difficult to read. Examples include “It is widely believe,” “the population … are gradually increases,” and “it solve the problem,” where verb forms or agreement are incorrect. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “in same building” and the run-on sequence “playground.Additionally.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation. Shorter, correctly controlled sentences would make the argument clearer while you build confidence with complex structures.
