Student answer (Band 5.5)
In large cities, the population is increasing day by day . Some people suggest that the best method is to provide enough houses in big cities is to construct tall apartment blocks . I completely agree to this statement because doing this we can save land and money .
People live in apartment like flats can save land. If everyone builts a separate home instead of using small houses can consumes a large piece of land . Living in a tall apartments block also helps to communicate with others. For example, recently my friend shifted in a tall apartment block where alots of people live here. My friend do not face any difficulty, the people live here are so kind, generous and help to eachother. Large houses require a huge amount of money . large houses are expensive as compared to small houses. I think that living in small houses can also save money.
People living in tall apartment block can also save time. Sorrounding these buildings there are a lots of schools , Colleges , universities , grocery shops , resturants and cafes . If anyone want to purchase anything they do not need travel a long distance . They can easily drop their childern in schools by walking. The government should provides transport facilities here . Therefore, many people use public transport instead of using their own transport. This approach is beneficial for environment.
However, there are some disadvantages to live in a small homes. People of large families can not stay or live in small houses. They need large space to live. Flats have just 2 or 3 rooms , a kitchen and washroom. So, its difficult to live in small house . A few people feel stressed during living in a tall building apartment blocks .
In conclusion, This is the best way to provide enough homae in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks . These buildings can save land and money. The goverenment should provide public transport around theses buildings .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you completely agree that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes, and the conclusion restates this view. You give relevant reasons, including saving land, reducing costs, and making shops and schools accessible, and you acknowledge a drawback for large families. However, some points are not fully explained or consistently linked to the question. For example, the discussion of saving money shifts from tall blocks to “small houses,” so the comparison is unclear. The personal example about your friend mainly describes friendly neighbours rather than showing how apartment construction provides enough homes. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation of how it supports your position, and address the limitation more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for supporting points and a disadvantage, and a conclusion. The ideas generally follow a sensible order, and linking expressions such as “For example,” “However,” and “Therefore” help guide the reader. At times, though, connections are mechanical or unclear. The shift from tall apartments to “small houses” in the first supporting paragraph interrupts the line of reasoning, while “Therefore” does not clearly follow from the preceding point about government transport. References such as “here” and “this approach” can also leave the reader unsure which place or idea is meant. Use clearer topic sentences and make each paragraph develop one connected point, with more precise referencing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “population,” “apartment blocks,” “public transport,” and “environment.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “generous” and “facilities.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make the writing less natural and occasionally harder to follow. Examples include “builts,” “alots,” “Sorrounding,” “resturants,” and “homae”; phrases such as “tall apartments block” and “drop their children in schools” are also awkward. Aim to learn accurate collocations for housing and urban planning, and proofread spelling carefully. Replacing repeated general terms such as “save” and “large” with precise alternatives would also improve flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If anyone want to purchase anything…” and a contrast introduced by “However.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but errors in sentence construction and basic grammar occur across the response. For instance, “the best method is to provide enough houses … is to construct” has a faulty structure, and “If everyone … can consumes” combines incompatible verb forms. There are also agreement and article errors in “People living in tall apartment block can also save time” and “The government should provides.” Work on forming complete clauses, matching subjects and verbs, and using articles and plurals consistently. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied sentences clearer.
