Student answer (Band 5.0)

Constiructing skyscrapers would be a better way to give sufficient homes in big cities. I completely disagree with tha statement. Firstly, they collapse immediately by a natural calamities and it is more restricted.

To begin with, these building will collapse faster over a natural disaster. Most of the natural disasters like tsunamis and earth quakes are most likely to occur in many cities of different countries because of the changes happening in the climate nowadays and we cant estimate them.Buildings which are constructed this tall will dissmandle because they are not strong enough to bare the frequency of the earthquake or a tusnami. For example,People who live japan constructs small delicate buildings so that it would be safefull for them because the country is more prone to earthquakes.

In addition, there will be restrictions over small things. We have to restrict ourslef in doing something despite staying in our own home.People around the house always complaints about some silly reasons and it is disgusting. Moreover it will tough for people who are into cultural activities because they have to do practice. For instance, people who live in such type communities always complaints about privacy and restrictions their appartment members dont allow practicing dance and listening to music in speakers.

In conclusion, the best to give a enough houses is to construct a big appartmets in big developed cities.I disagree with statement because they will collpase over a natural disasters and many of the cities are prone to natural disasters. Moreover it creates a restricted environment with more rules and regulations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You state a clear disagreement and give two relevant reasons: concern about natural disasters and reduced privacy or freedom in apartment communities. The Japan example also attempts to support the first point. However, the response only partially develops the task: it does not explain why tall blocks are or are not the best way to provide enough homes compared with alternatives, and several claims remain broad or unclear. For example, saying that tall buildings “will collapse” during disasters is presented as certain, without qualification or supporting detail. The second reason focuses on restrictions on activities but does not clearly connect these to the overall housing question. Develop each reason with a more precise explanation and a relevant example, while keeping your position consistent in the introduction and conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “To begin with” and “In addition,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify your two main reasons. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from climate change to building strength and then to Japan without clearly explaining the links. Some connections are also repetitive, particularly the conclusion, which restates the same two reasons rather than drawing them together. Referencing in phrases such as “these building” and “such type communities” is unclear. Use topic sentences that state each argument precisely, then arrange explanation and example in a clear sequence, with more accurate linking and referencing.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “natural disasters,” “earthquake,” “privacy,” “restrictions,” and “cultural activities.” However, the range is limited and several spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to understand. Examples include “Constiructing,” “dissmandle,” “bare the frequency,” and “safefull”; the intended meanings are not always immediately clear. Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “small delicate buildings” and “big appartmets.” Build a more accurate set of topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully. Prefer precise expressions such as “withstand an earthquake” and “high-rise apartment buildings,” and avoid repeating general words such as “things” and “people” when a more specific term is available.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use some longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “because of the changes happening in the climate,” and you attempt to explain causes and examples. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make several sentences awkward or unclear. For instance, “these building will collapse” has a number-agreement problem, while “People around the house always complaints” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “the best to give a enough houses.” Work on reliable simple sentence patterns first, then add subordinate clauses with accurate agreement, articles, and punctuation. Reading each sentence aloud and checking that every subject matches its verb would help improve clarity.
