Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is argued that constructing tall residencial buildings is the more effective way to provide the required number of homes in big cities. This essay agrees with this notion because it is convinient to access into the city and saves land.
First of all, builing apartment blocks in the downtown area makes entering any corner of city easy as well as more accessible. This can also reduce the transportaion expnses because there is no need to travel long way just to reach the city. For instance, individuals living in countyside area have to pay for metro or other vehicles to travel to cities.
The other benefit of construcing taller biulings is that this can save a considerable amount of land. In bigger cities, there is already a limited amount of land for building houses so this can be tackled by constructing towers or apartment blocks. An example is the New York city, as most of the individuals live in flats rather than in villas.
Although, there are some drawbacks of living in flats which include a situation of natural disasters. If any natural disaster occurs, escaping becomes difficult in tall buildings as the lifts can carry only e certain number of people. The other factor can be the lack of space, as the flats are comperatively less spacious that bunglows of detached villas.
In conclusion, building tall towers for recidencial use is overall a better option to provide homes to indiviudals despite of factors affecting living in builings in tall towers.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment buildings are an effective way to provide homes, and you give two relevant reasons—easier access to city facilities and more efficient use of land. The New York example supports the second point, and you also acknowledge drawbacks, so the response addresses the main parts of the question. However, the first reason is not fully aligned with the claim: living downtown may reduce travel, but the essay does not explain why tall blocks are the best way to provide enough homes. The points about disaster evacuation and limited space are also introduced but not weighed against your position. Develop the reasoning and examples more fully to make the argument convincing throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion that restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “The other benefit,” and “Although” help readers follow the progression. This organisation is effective, but some links between ideas are mechanical, and the contrast paragraph begins with “Although” without clearly connecting the drawbacks to your overall judgement. References such as “this” in “this can be tackled” are not fully precise, so the reader must infer that you mean the shortage of land. To strengthen cohesion, use more varied transitions and make the relationship between each example, its supporting point, and your conclusion explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “apartment blocks,” “limited amount of land,” “natural disasters,” and “detached villas.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “a considerable amount of land.” However, spelling errors are noticeable, including “residencial,” “convinient,” “transportaion,” and “comperatively,” and some word combinations are unnatural, such as “entering any corner of city” and “travel long way.” These slips reduce the precision and polish of the response, even though the main meaning is generally understandable. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for discussing urban housing, transport, and access to services.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because there is no need to travel” and a concession introduced by “Although.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “access into the city” uses an unsuitable preposition, while “a limited amount of land for building houses” would be clearer with a more accurate construction. There are also errors in articles and sentence structure, as in “an example is the New York city,” and the final sentence’s “despite of factors” is not grammatically formed. Practise article use, prepositions, and concession structures, then proofread each sentence for a complete and natural grammatical pattern.
