Student answer (Band 5.0)

In today's world, it is seen that the problem of overpopulation is elevating day by day. For the Basic needs of the increasing population it is important to develop the facilities. One of the Primary needs of the People is Housing needs, for fulfilling that basic needs geographical areas should be developed and have major place for housing.Especially in the urban areas like the large cities such as Bombay,Delhi, etc. Many people also migrating from rural to urban areas in search of many developed things that were not given in the rural areas.

On the one hand, for completing the needs of housing for these

people is getting important but on the other side to fulfill these needs the geographical areas should be larger and to make that, cutting of trees, and harming the environment is increasing. It is also not good for the people living in the cities as we get the oxygen and natural air from the trees and natural environment , if these were only not going to survive then how can a human live on earth? As we seen Cutting of trees is necessary for building large and tall buildings for housing facilities of Human beings. But, we should find a alternative firstly for protecting the environment and then start thinking about the architecture of the tall buildings.

In my opinion,it is vital to develop large tall buildings for completing needs of housing of growing population but it is advice to the human being that to plant atleast one tree in return of that one house that was made successfully after cutting a lot of trees.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the topic and give a position: you consider tall buildings necessary for housing, while also raising environmental concerns and recommending tree planting. However, the response only partially answers the question of whether this is the best way to provide enough homes. The discussion focuses heavily on population growth and tree loss, without comparing apartment blocks with alternatives or explaining how high-rise housing would meet demand effectively. The suggestion to plant a tree for each house is relevant but not developed with reasons or a concrete example. To strengthen the response, state your degree of agreement clearly in the introduction and support it with specific benefits, limitations, and examples related to housing in large cities.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some organisation: the opening introduces urban housing pressure, the next paragraph presents a contrast using “On the one hand” and “on the other side,” and the final paragraph gives your opinion. However, the progression is not consistently clear. The contrast paragraph moves from land use to oxygen, then to tree cutting and building design, so the relationship between these points is difficult to follow. Linking phrases are sometimes mechanical or do not accurately signal the argument, and the conclusion introduces the tree-planting proposal without developing it earlier. Use one paragraph to explain the case for high-rise housing and another to discuss its drawbacks, with clear topic sentences and references that connect each supporting point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “overpopulation,” “urban areas,” “housing facilities,” and “environment,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, sometimes making ideas harder to understand. For example, “overpopulation is elevating” is not a natural way to describe a growing problem, and “geographical areas should be larger” does not clearly express the need to use urban land efficiently. Capitalisation is also inconsistent, as in “Basic needs” and “People.” Aim for precise phrases connected to the question, such as housing supply, residential density, and land use, and check that verbs and nouns combine naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrastive structure beginning “On the one hand” and a conditional question about the consequences of losing trees. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation can make the reader work to understand your meaning. For instance, “for completing the needs of housing for these people is getting important” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “a alternative” and “it is advice” show problems with article use and word form within the sentence. Several sentences also run together without appropriate punctuation. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check each sentence for a complete main clause.
