Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, shortage of homes has a matter of considerable debate due to its far-reaching impact on individual and society. While some people holds different view, i strongly agree that build bigger apartment blocks in large cities. There are several reasons behind my opinion which will disscuss in the following paragraphs.
The primary reason of my view point is that the population is grow day by day. Although there is a biggest problem in modern era, and we solve this issue with build tallest building in cities. In large cities huge amount of people are living and they do work in this cities. Furthermore, there are many collages and universities in large cities. Because of this reason most of the students are came in big cities for higher education, and live in this. That why we need to build large apartments in large cities to control shortage of home, and we accomodate large amount of individuals in apartments.
On the other hand, the societies and their homes are expanded and they covers a huge amount of area. They cause to waste of land. If we build aprtments rather than big homes in land, we reduce the waste of land, and this land we use for agriculture and farming puposes.
In conclusion, although large home and societies are better in approperiate circumstances, we need to built aprtments to accomodate a large amount of people's. Becuase they help to reduce waste of land and also help to use land right way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you agree that taller apartment buildings can help address housing shortages. You give relevant reasons, especially that cities attract workers and students and that apartments use less land than detached homes. However, the response only partly develops the task. The explanation of population growth is broad, and the point about using saved land for agriculture is asserted rather than supported with a specific example or explanation of how this would help provide homes. The opening also refers to building “bigger” blocks, while the task is specifically about tall apartment blocks. To strengthen the response, explain why vertical construction is effective in dense cities and develop each reason with a concrete example or consequence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion. The ideas are generally relevant and the reader can follow the broad argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the shift from population growth to universities, for example, is not fully explained, and the second body paragraph is brief. Linking phrases such as “Furthermore,” “Because of this reason,” and “On the other hand” are used, but some connections are mechanical or inaccurate; “On the other hand” introduces another supporting reason rather than a contrasting view. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example explicitly to housing demand, and make the relationship between paragraphs more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “shortage of homes,” “population,” “higher education,” “agriculture,” and “apartments,” so the main ideas are usually understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make the writing less natural. Examples include “population is grow,” “waste of land,” and “use land right way”; more precise phrasing would help express the argument clearly. Spelling errors such as “disscuss,” “collages,” “accomodate,” and “approperiate” are also noticeable. Build a bank of accurate housing and urban-planning expressions, and check spelling and word forms carefully. Aim for precise phrases rather than repeating “large” and “amount.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession beginning “Although” and a conditional sentence beginning “If we build apartments.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors affect clarity. For example, “shortage of homes has a matter” lacks the correct verb construction, “some people holds” has subject–verb disagreement, and “the population is grow” uses an incorrect verb form. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence construction, as in “live in this” and “a large amount of people's.” Work first on reliable subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and complete sentence patterns. Then practise combining ideas with subordinate clauses while checking that each clause is grammatically complete.
