Student answer (Band 5.5)

some people are think in large cities is easy to provide enough home with build tall apartment blocks I agree with it.

Many people shift in big cities for best study and facility so there is a major problem with space in the cites. That is why people cannot find a place to alive. The primary reason to build upward is maximizing limited land resources.in densely populated cities, land is scare and expensive.Constructing high rise building allows cites to house thousand of people on a relatively small geographic footprint. For example:Singapore successfully used high rise public housing (HDB flats)to provide affordable, quality for over eighty% of its population despite its tiny landmass. Without vertical expansion , the city state would face serve space shortages. Furthermore, tall apartment block promotes sustainable and organized infrastructure.High rise development allow governments to save utilities like water, electricity and waste management .This reduce traffic like they provide parking so many cars and bikes are park in parking so road are clear .While some argue that high rises can feel isolating, modern vertical architecture incorporate green spaces, communal rooftop garden, and integrated shopping center to foster a sense of community.

In conclusion ,vertical housing is the best smartest blueprint for future cities. By saving land , lowering infrastructure costs, and supporting public transit, tall apartment blocks provide the most viable and sustainable answer to urban housing demands

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the opening (“I agree with it”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons: limited land, the Singapore HDB example, and potential infrastructure and community benefits. These address the question, but some points are less fully developed than others. The discussion of parking and clearer roads is difficult to follow, and the claim that high-rise housing lowers infrastructure costs needs explanation or evidence. You briefly acknowledge isolation and offer a response, which helps address a counterargument, but this could be explored further. The response is also 28 words below the required minimum; develop your supporting points with specific explanation or another relevant example to meet the task requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body sections presenting reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from land scarcity to infrastructure and community is generally logical, and linking expressions such as “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, some connections are unclear or mechanical. The sentence beginning “This reduce traffic like they provide parking” combines several ideas without showing how they relate, and the shift from infrastructure savings to parking is abrupt. Paragraphing is also weakened by the unusually large gaps and inconsistent spacing. To improve, give each paragraph a clear central point, connect supporting explanations explicitly, and use referencing and transitions naturally rather than relying mainly on formulaic signposts.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a useful range of topic vocabulary, including “limited land resources,” “densely populated,” “vertical expansion,” “public housing,” and “sustainable.” The Singapore example also gives you a chance to use precise housing terminology. However, inaccurate word choice, spelling, and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make meaning less clear: “place to alive,” “land is scare,” “serve space shortages,” and “quality for over eighty%” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “save utilities” and “provide parking so many cars.” Aim to learn common word partnerships for urban development and check spelling and word forms. More accurate use of your existing topic vocabulary would make the argument clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause (“That is why…”) and a contrast clause beginning “While some argue…”. These attempts show some range, but grammatical control is inconsistent. For example, “some people are think” has an incorrect verb form, while “High rise development allow” and “This reduce” show subject–verb agreement errors. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “tall apartment block promotes” and the run-on construction about parking and roads. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, particularly after full stops and around commas. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct agreement, and complete punctuation; this will help your complex ideas remain easy to follow.
