Student answer (Band 5.5)
in larger and abounded cities the better way to provide people with enough homes is to build large apartment blocks. I completely agree with this thought that tall buildings should be buidl but by talking all precautions.
There are number of advantages to build large buildings as compared to apartments that are not tall and spread on large areas. For example in tall apartments large number of people can live in these buildings take less space which can be further used for different types of projects like parks and gymnasyms. Building tall apartments vertically can be very helpful in urban areas for people to get all the facilities in dense population.
There is another advantage of tall buildings that people who live there can enjoy better scenery and can enjoy good quality air and quite environment. Overall, living in tall apartments can improve your living style completely. These apartments have mostly all the facilities like small gardens and swimming pool in each one of them so people can enjoy there personal time there without any interference. These buildings also have shared fitness centers and community halls which can be used by there residents at given time as compared to traditional single homes all these facilities mostly are not provided in gated communities or town Houses.
In conclusion both town houses and tall building apartments have there own benefits but overall tall buildings apartments have better facilities for there residents and people can enjoy a better and improved lifestyle there without comprising much.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the opening: you “completely agree” that tall buildings are a good way to provide homes, and the conclusion maintains this view. You give relevant reasons, especially that vertical construction uses less land and can leave space for parks and other projects. You also discuss shared facilities and residents’ quality of life. However, the response focuses more on lifestyle benefits than on how apartment blocks provide enough homes, and several claims—such as better scenery, air quality and quiet—are asserted without explanation or a concrete example. Develop the housing-capacity argument further and support each main point with a specific example to make the response more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress from the land-saving benefit to facilities and lifestyle, and linking phrases such as “For example,” “There is another advantage” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. However, the second body paragraph combines several points—scenery, air quality, gardens, swimming pools and shared facilities—without clearly separating or developing them. Some connections are also unclear, particularly the comparison with “gated communities or town Houses.” Use topic sentences that identify each paragraph’s main argument, then explain and illustrate it in a logical sequence. More precise referencing would also help readers follow what “these buildings” and “all these facilities” refer to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “urban areas,” “dense population,” “shared fitness centers” and “community halls.” These terms help communicate your ideas about city housing and amenities. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and collocation errors make parts less natural, such as “abounded cities,” “better scenery,” “quite environment” and “improved lifestyle there.” Repetition of “tall buildings,” “apartments” and “facilities” also limits flexibility. Aim to use more precise housing and planning vocabulary, and check spelling and common word partnerships. For example, describe how high-rise housing “accommodates more residents on a smaller footprint” rather than repeatedly saying it takes less space.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “For example” and a contrast introduced by “as compared to.” The main ideas are usually understandable, but errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms occur across the response. For instance, “There are number of advantages to build” needs an article and a different verb pattern, while “people can live in these buildings take less space” lacks a clear grammatical link between its clauses. There are also errors in possessives and agreement, as in “there residents” and “swimming pool.” Review articles, verb patterns, clause boundaries and possessive forms. Building accurate sentences first will make your more complex ideas easier to follow.
