Student answer (Band 6.5)

Tall apartments should be build by the authorities so that there would be enough space for the houses in big cities. I completely agree with this statement because tall buildings will provide numerous benefits to the common people.

The primary reason of constructing apartment blocks in the developing cities is that most of the people move from rural areas to urban ones. People prefer to live in modern cities because of their personal needs such as in search of employment, accessibility to higher education, improved health facilities and better lifestyle. As a result, to ajdust massive population government should priortize people's needs and start spending money on the large buildings to provide enough homes to the people.

Another cause of investing in tall apartment blocks is the less coverage of land area. Due to growing population people need places to live, so instead of covering area on the earth authorities should construct big buildings with various apartment blocks. Consequently, land should be used for other facilities such constructing more hospitals, schools and for the basic needs.

High-rise buildings can provide more housing units with affordable prices and access to other facilities. People living in the apartments may have access to gyms, parking areas, shops and security services within the same building. On the top of that living on higher floors can enjoy attractive views of the city and its skyline.

To conclude, tall apartments offer huge benefits, including efficient land use, increased housing availability and access to other essential facilities. Therefore, they can be an effective solution to thr growing housing demand in large cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

Your position is clear from the opening: you completely agree that tall apartment blocks can address housing needs in large cities, and the conclusion reinforces this view. You give relevant reasons, including rural-to-urban migration, efficient land use, and shared facilities such as gyms and shops. These points address the task and are supported with explanation. However, some claims remain broad: for example, you say apartments can offer “affordable prices” without explaining how costs would be kept affordable, and the benefits of high-floor views are less directly connected to providing enough homes. Develop the strongest points with a specific example or clearer explanation of how high-rise construction increases housing supply.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, three body paragraphs with distinct supporting points, and a conclusion. Ideas progress logically from urban migration to land efficiency and then to facilities, while phrases such as “As a result,” “Consequently,” and “To conclude” help signal relationships. This organisation makes your argument easy to follow. To make cohesion more flexible and precise, strengthen the links between some claims rather than relying mainly on familiar transitions. For instance, explain how the land saved by building upwards could practically accommodate hospitals or schools. Also ensure each paragraph develops one central point fully; the final body paragraph shifts from affordability and facilities to attractive views, which slightly weakens its focus.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “rural areas,” “urban,” “population,” “housing units,” “essential facilities,” and “housing demand.” These choices make the subject clear, and some phrases, such as “efficient land use,” are appropriate for an academic argument. However, several word-choice and collocation errors reduce precision: “the primary reason of constructing” is less natural than “the primary reason for constructing,” and “less coverage of land area” does not express the idea as clearly as “a smaller land footprint.” There are also spelling errors, including “ajdust,” “priortize,” and “thr.” Aim for more accurate collocations and proofread spelling, while keeping your vocabulary natural rather than forcing uncommon terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “so,” and “as a result.” Most meaning remains clear, and sentences such as “People prefer to live in modern cities because of their personal needs” are straightforward and controlled. Some grammatical errors persist, however. In the opening, “should be build” needs the past participle “built”; “to ajdust massive population” needs a grammatical construction such as “to accommodate the growing population”; and “living on higher floors can enjoy” lacks a clear subject. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction in “for the basic needs.” Review passive forms, infinitive patterns, and subject–verb relationships. More accurate control of these structures would complement the range you already attempt.
