Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, The population of world is increasing day by day and there is strong urban flooding in many cities of countries. The streets are becoming narrow and car parking issues are putting a great impact and people have become cruel and don't want to share peice of land for benefit of others. So single houses for one family covers maximum area and covered area is quite useless. Individuals,Take complete measures in near future.

Mostly, I will agree building apartment blocks are beneficial because they require less space with maximum floors. One house which was only for 3-4 people and building, Which can provide home for 9-10 families. Before constucting an apartment structure a huge basement can be built for providing parking facilities to the residents, Rather than parking on roads. Solar panels can also installed on each apartments which will provide free electricity and alongwith, Prices of apartments will be cheaper and insurance also. Families can secure them in future.

Not each and every person likes to live in apartments, Because they want there on seperate space for privacy and want there on private parking. There can be issues in structure buildings, That they are built properly or using good material and suden earthquake can cause damage in future. So individuals mostly wanted to build there own homes on there own lands, They can have complete check on there construction.

This can be concluded that mapping and discussion can be done before building up the apartments with public, So they can get satisfied what they want. Seperate area should be designed for apartments, parks and markets.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You take a generally clear position in favour of apartment blocks, and the points about accommodating more families on less land and providing basement parking are relevant to the question. You also acknowledge a counterargument: some people value privacy and worry about construction quality or earthquakes. However, the response only partly develops the task. The advantages are listed more than explained, and the final suggestion about consulting the public and separating apartments, parks and markets is not connected clearly to whether tall blocks are the best way to provide enough homes. Develop each main reason with a specific explanation or example, and make your degree of agreement explicit and consistent throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraph, counterargument and conclusion. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “Mostly, I will agree” and “This can be concluded” signal the writer’s direction. However, progression between ideas is not always clear: the opening moves from population growth to narrow streets, parking and unwillingness to share land without showing how each point leads to the next. Several sentences also join separate claims with “and” or “So,” while capitalisation after commas disrupts the flow. Use clearer topic sentences, group related points, and make links between claims explicit rather than relying on repeated basic connectors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “apartment blocks,” “parking facilities,” “privacy,” “solar panels” and “earthquake,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “urban flooding” where the context appears to concern urban crowding, “covered area is quite useless,” and “secure them in future.” Spelling errors such as “peice,” “constucting” and “suden” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise housing and planning vocabulary, and check spelling and collocations. For example, explain that apartment buildings use land efficiently, rather than describing the land or covered area as “useless.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including the contrast beginning “Not each and every person likes to live in apartments, Because…” and the concluding sentence beginning “This can be concluded that…”. However, complex constructions are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “The population of world is increasing,” “building apartment blocks are beneficial,” and “Solar panels can also installed”; these show problems with articles, agreement and verb forms. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly where a comma is followed by a capital letter. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete verb patterns, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and main verb.
