Student answer (Band 6.0)
With the rapid growth of urban population, high-rise apartment buildings can offer a practical solution to the increasing demand for housing. This essay concurs with the given statement because efficiant use of limited land could be possible and it can provide accommodation for many people.
To begin with the first cause of agreement with the aformentioned opinion is that building apartments is the way to use limited land more efficiently. To explain it, if there is ten different houses in ten different places they would cover maximum land but, the same area of land could be use for building an apartment for arround more then hundreds of rooms and rest of the area could be use for parks and gardens, it would be the great way to use the land more beneficially. To give an example, Oxford University reported in 2020 that in urban areas, where high-rise buildings were available, more place was available for other activies such for garden, parking and walking.
Additionally, another aspect that leads to agreement is that apartments could provide home for many families. Building a house on a particular land can accommodate one or two families, while buildings can gave homes to more than five hundres families. To quote an instance, a survey by World Health Orgenization found that building had fulfilled the demand of housing in developed cities.
To conclude, due to the points discussed that building apartments is the great way to use lands more efficiantly and it can also fulfill the wider demand of housing, so this essay has the same understanding with the concept that high-rise apartment building is the great way to give housing facilities to people in big cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that tall apartment buildings can help meet housing demand, and the conclusion restates this view. You give two relevant reasons—using scarce land efficiently and accommodating more families—and support them with examples. This addresses the task well, but the development is uneven: the land-use point is explained more fully, while the claim that apartments house many families is mostly asserted, and the survey example is not explained or connected clearly to the claim. To strengthen the response, develop the second reason with a specific explanation or a credible, relevant example, and consider acknowledging a limitation of high-rise housing before reaffirming your position. The argument is relevant, though not yet consistently extended and supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Additionally,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the argument, and the main position remains consistent. However, some linking is mechanical, and a few references are unclear. For example, “the first cause of agreement” is an awkward way to introduce the first reason, while “building had fulfilled the demand” does not make clear which building or what evidence the survey provides. The long sentence beginning “if there is ten different houses” also packs several points together. Use more natural transitions, make references explicit, and divide complex explanations into clearer sentences to improve progression and cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “urban population,” “limited land,” “high-rise apartment buildings,” and “housing demand,” so the central ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “accommodation” and “efficiently.” However, the range and control are uneven: repeated use of “building,” “land,” and “great way” makes the argument less precise, and several word-choice or spelling errors are noticeable, including “efficiant,” “aformentioned,” “arround,” and “Orgenization.” Some combinations are unnatural, such as “provide home for many families” and “the same understanding with the concept.” Build a wider set of accurate housing-related collocations and check spelling and word forms; this would make the vocabulary more flexible and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional and contrast structures, as in “if there is ten different houses…” and “while buildings can gave homes…”. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction recur. Examples include “there is ten” instead of “there are ten,” “could be use” instead of “could be used,” and “buildings can gave” instead of “buildings can give.” The long sentence in the first body paragraph also needs clearer punctuation and control. These errors sometimes make the reader work to follow the explanation, despite the clear overall message. Practise accurate past participles and subject–verb agreement, and use shorter, well-controlled sentences alongside complex ones.
