Student answer (Band 4.5)
As the population of the world is increasing day by day..and many people go towards the cities for better job opportunities health facilities and education.so it's is better to build tall apartment block .I really agree with it...but I think the best way to to live is like open places ...there has been many reaserch where living in apartment can cause respiratory problems and if we are clearing forest or other agriculture places in order build tall building it is also harmful for us beacuse not only we are harming the animals habitat and making them extinct but also the environment can become more polluted and the sunlight exposure would become less over the cities beacuse of many tall buildings..so I think where it good suggestion to build tall building apartment to accommodate the more people .it could also prove harmful..so everything has its pros and cons

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You give a relevant, though unclear, response to the question: “I really agree with it” indicates support for tall apartment blocks, while the later concerns about their harms make your overall position less definite. You identify relevant points, including housing more people, possible respiratory problems, loss of animal habitats, pollution and reduced sunlight. However, these ideas are mostly listed rather than explained or supported with examples, and the response does not fully develop why tall blocks are the best way to provide enough homes. The response is also 103 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to address the task fully. State your position consistently and develop each main reason with explanation or a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic line of thought: population growth and migration create housing demand, followed by reasons to support and question tall buildings. However, the ideas are presented in one long, unstructured paragraph, so the reader has difficulty following the argument. The repeated use of “so,” “but,” and “because” does not clearly show how each point relates to the next, and the ending, “everything has its pros and cons,” does not resolve your position. Organise the response into an introduction, separate paragraphs for your main arguments, and a conclusion. Use linking expressions selectively and make the contrast between your support for apartment blocks and your concerns explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the general topic, including “population,” “job opportunities,” “respiratory problems,” “habitat,” and “environment.” Some choices show an attempt to express more specific ideas, such as “sunlight exposure.” However, the range is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors make the writing less clear, including “reaserch,” “beacuse,” and “accommodate the more people.” Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “open places” and “go towards the cities.” Build a wider set of accurate terms for housing and urban development, and check spelling and collocations. For example, “move to cities” and “accommodate more people” would express your meaning more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example by using “if” and “not only…but also,” which shows some effort to go beyond simple statements. However, the response relies on a limited range of structures, and frequent errors make several sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “it's is better,” “there has been many reaserch,” and “where it good suggestion,” which show problems with verb forms, agreement and sentence construction. Full stops and capital letters are also often missing, creating run-on sentences. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then combine related ideas with accurate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, articles and punctuation before finishing.
