Student answer (Band 6.0)

Many people believe that building a high rise infrastructure is beneficial for community because more people can find homes. I somehow agree with this view because apartments are more safer and convenient to live. However, it sometime create disputes among residents over privacy concerns and use of terrace.

Building a tall apartments are safer and comfortable. These buildings are usually build in boundary wall projects under strict security. Security guards properly check nonresidents and often take their ID cards. As a result, women and children feel safe and can easily go outside without any fear. Moreover, apartments are also comfortable to live in because of the facilities provided by the builders. People do not have to worry about load shedding, cleaning, and garbage dumping. People give maintenance charges on monthly basis. For example, most of the over populated countries are focusing on building high rise apartments so that the community can get benefit from it.

On the other hand, living in closed apartments can also create stress and disputes among residents. The main reason is that people experienced almost no privacy because of the closeness. Noise of children and private family matters can easily heard by nearby people. Likewise, people living on top floors often have access to terrace for their personal use. Even if they live on rent, they paid additional charges to use it. These lead to arguments and disputes among residents. For instance, top floor people often get many benefits in terms of minimal rent amount and use of terrace where they can install solar plates also.

In conclusion, high rise infrastructure is beneficial for us because more people can accommodate. I also believe that they are safer and comfortable to live in. However, living in apartments may also lead to stress among residents since they create disputes over terrace and privacy concerns.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you partly agree that tall apartment buildings help provide homes, while recognising possible problems with privacy and shared facilities. The response stays relevant and gives supporting details, such as security checks, maintenance services, noise, and terrace access. However, the central question is whether this is the best way to provide enough homes in large cities, and your discussion focuses more on whether apartments are safe or comfortable than on their housing capacity or comparison with alternatives. The examples about overpopulated countries and top-floor residents are also general or only loosely connected to the main claim. Develop the housing-supply argument more directly and explain how the drawbacks affect your overall position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, and a conclusion that restates your view. Linking phrases such as “Moreover,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the argument. Within paragraphs, however, some points are joined mechanically, and the relationship between examples and claims is not always clear. For instance, the example about top-floor residents’ rent and terrace use does not fully explain how this supports the broader concern about disputes. The conclusion also repeats the introduction rather than drawing together the main reasoning. Use clearer references and develop each paragraph around one central point, with examples explicitly tied to it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “security guards,” “maintenance charges,” “privacy concerns,” and “disputes,” which allows you to discuss both benefits and drawbacks. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “load shedding” and “garbage dumping.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “high rise infrastructure,” “more safer,” “over populated countries,” and “install solar plates.” “Boundary wall projects” is also unclear in this context. These choices sometimes make the meaning less precise, even though the main ideas remain understandable. Aim for natural collocations and check whether a phrase expresses the intended idea—for example, distinguish apartment buildings from infrastructure and use standard terms for solar equipment.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “so that,” and “even if.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “Building a tall apartments are,” “These buildings are usually build,” and “Noise … can easily heard,” which involve agreement or verb-form problems. There are also tense and agreement inconsistencies in “people experienced” and “they paid,” and article or plural issues in phrases such as “a high rise infrastructure.” These errors do not generally prevent the reader from following your meaning, but they reduce accuracy. Review subject–verb agreement, passive forms, and consistent tense, then proofread each sentence for a complete verb structure.
