Student answer (Band 5.5)

Housing crises in the big cities become one of the big issue for any government. To overcome this housing crises, Best solution is to build tall building and provide it as a flat to the citizez. In this essay, We will discuss why this is the best solution.

In the large cities it is very common now that invester buying the huge agricultural land and makes alot of houses over there. This act by the investor encourage people who are land lord to sell their agricultural land for the housing societies. This can be challenging for the agriculture sector for that country.

There is also one more reason is that seperate housing on the land of the big cities can be problematic for the business man who want to invest their money for buying a land with the purpose of their business building or shop. He would not be able to get any land for their business in big cities, As a result, investor would not invest their money in that country which can be economical problem for the government of the country.

Also the main benifit for build tall building as a home is that government have not to make more hospitals or police station with alot of distance, because alot of families can lives in one building and goverment just need to make basic facilities around that buildings which used as the housing for their citizens.

In Conclusion, In tall building, we can safe our agriculture land for our future generation, We can attract alot of investment from the investor across the world because they can have cheaper land in big cities where they want to do some business. It is so easly for the goverment to the people who lived in flat of tall building instead making of 3-4 hospital in the same city with alot of distance.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You take a position in favour of tall apartment buildings and give relevant reasons: preserving agricultural land, leaving space for businesses, and providing services to residents more efficiently. These points show an understanding of the topic. However, the response addresses the question only partially because it does not weigh whether tall blocks are the best way to provide enough homes or consider any limitations or alternatives. Several claims are asserted rather than explained—for example, the link between apartment blocks and attracting international investment is unclear, and the point about hospitals and police stations needs a concrete explanation. Develop fewer ideas more fully, with a specific example, and keep the argument focused on housing provision throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally group related points, and signposts such as “There is also one more reason” and “In Conclusion” help readers follow the sequence. However, progression between the ideas is not always clear: the discussion moves from agricultural land to business investment and then public facilities without showing how each point supports the central claim. Some linking is repetitive or awkward, and references such as “that buildings” make connections less clear. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main reason, then explain and connect the supporting detail back to your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “agricultural land,” “housing societies,” “business,” and “basic facilities,” so the main subject is usually understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “big issue,” “build tall building,” and “make more hospitals.” Spelling errors—including “benifit,” “goverment,” and “easly”—also make the writing less controlled. Aim to use more precise housing and urban-planning terms, and check spelling and common word partnerships. For instance, describe the construction of high-rise apartment blocks and the provision of public services rather than relying repeatedly on “make” and “big.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional structure in “He would not be able to get any land … As a result,” and a reason clause beginning “because.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries occur frequently. Examples include “Housing crises … become,” “government have not to make,” and “families can lives”; the sentence beginning “There is also one more reason is that” is also structurally incomplete. Capitalisation after commas and the use of commas to join independent clauses further affect accuracy. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and separating complete sentences before adding more complex clauses.
