Student answer (Band 6.0)
The twenty-first century has witnessed substantial changes in the lifestyle and behaviour of people. It is argued that the most appropriate way to provide accomodation to individuals is by constructing tall apartment blocks in meteropolitan cities. I acknowledge this view with some reservations and this essay justifies my stance with well- reasoned arguments.
On the one hand, it is unequivocal that a lot of people can be accomodated in large buildings. In the modern era, most of the people prefer to live in urban areas . So, individuals need a proper constructed shelter to live-in. If tall buildings are established many people can be accomodated in those apartments. Apart from that, tall buildings enhances the beauty of a place. Many ultrawealthy families buy expensive homes in tall buildngs to show their wealth to people. Also, these buildings are designed in such a way to attract the attention of people. To exemplify, one of the most popular building in Dubai among tourists as well as local people is burj khalifa due to its architecture and design.
On the other hand, it is unequivocal that it takes a toll on the environment. The construction of these buildings create a lot of pollution in the surrondings. Resultantly, it negatively effects the health of people. Moreover, the government has to spend an enormous amount of money on construction of these apartments. Consequently, the government needs a lot of expenses to build tall buildings. As a result, it creates a financial burden on the government.
Having discussed the topic at length, I conclude that this trend is a mixed bleesing. Although many people can be accomodated in tall buildings and large blocks enhaces the beauty of a place, it negatively affects health of people and creates a burden for the government. Therefore, i partially agree with given statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is identifiable: you partially agree, recognising that apartment blocks can house many people while also raising environmental and financial concerns. These points are relevant, and the Burj Khalifa example gives one supporting detail. However, the response only partly addresses the central question of whether tall blocks are the best way to provide enough homes. The benefits paragraph shifts to appearance and wealthy residents, which does not explain housing provision as directly as affordability, land use, or capacity would. The drawbacks are also asserted rather than developed: explain how construction pollution affects residents or why the costs make this approach less effective than alternatives. A more consistently focused argument, with each main idea explained and supported, would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, contrasting body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “Having discussed the topic at length” make the progression easy to follow, and the conclusion returns to your partial-agreement position. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the clearer progression associated with a stronger performance. However, links between ideas are sometimes mechanical, particularly the repeated “Moreover,” “Consequently,” and “As a result,” where the relationship could be explained more precisely. Some sentences in the first body paragraph move from housing capacity to visual appeal without a clear connection to the main argument. Group related points and use transitions that show their exact relationship.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “urban areas,” “accommodated,” “construction,” “pollution,” and “financial burden.” Phrases such as “mixed blessing” and “takes a toll on the environment” show an attempt to use less common expressions. However, the range is not always controlled: “the government needs a lot of expenses” is an unnatural collocation, and “proper constructed shelter” is imprecise. Spelling errors such as “accomodation,” “meteropolitan,” “buildngs,” and “surrondings” are noticeable and reduce accuracy. Some wording, including “show their wealth to people,” is also informal or awkward for this essay. Aim for precise housing-related vocabulary and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple sentences and more complex forms, including conditional language (“If tall buildings are established…”) and a concession structure (“Although many people can be accommodated…”). Meaning is generally clear, and errors rarely prevent understanding. Some grammatical problems remain, however. Subject–verb agreement is inconsistent in “tall buildings enhances” and “the construction … create”; articles and sentence structure also need attention in “one of the most popular building” and “it negatively affects health of people.” Punctuation and spacing are uneven, with missing spaces after full stops and inconsistent capitalisation of “I.” Review agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, while continuing to use varied sentence patterns.
