Student answer (Band 4.5)

Tall apartment and blocks are the best way to provide homes the cities so the people can live peacefully and happy.

I believe appartment is the best idea for the people who are living in the city are they get enough home to live no rush type situation or traffic will happen.

On the one hand, Tall apartment or blocks are not much better it cause many dangerous accident if, flood or earth quick arrivies in the ies are so the tall appartment wil be easily destroyed in few seconds any many people get injured and dead and if we made tall blocks will also distroy any other building near it so high appartment are harmfull to people. If we make all buillding the parking fecillty become less and today people have atlest 2 cars so if we make tall appartment so we have to made a proper foundation so the area of parking automatic become lessn

On the other hand, Tall building & appartment are helpful to people who are living rental and the appartment provide every single activie to

save their time. Apartment provide fecility's like gym, swimming pool

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You give a relevant response by supporting apartment blocks as a way to house city residents, while also raising concerns about disasters and parking. However, your position is not consistently clear: the opening says tall apartments are “the best way,” but the next paragraph says they are “not much better,” and the response ends before resolving this contrast. The points about earthquake or flood damage and reduced parking are relevant, but they are asserted rather than explained with specific examples. The benefits of rental housing and shared facilities are also only briefly introduced. The response is 60 words below the required minimum, so there is not enough development to address the question fully. State your degree of agreement clearly and extend each main reason with explanation or an example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction and two contrasting body paragraphs, using “On the one hand” and “On the other hand.” This gives the reader some indication that you will consider both advantages and disadvantages. However, the ideas within the first body paragraph run together, moving from disasters to damage to nearby buildings and then parking without clear separation or progression. The final paragraph stops after listing facilities, so the discussion has no conclusion and the overall argument remains unfinished. Some linking phrases are also used without a clear relationship between the ideas. Use one paragraph for each main point, connect each explanation explicitly to your position, and add a concluding sentence that summarises your view.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “tall apartment,” “traffic,” “parking,” “foundation,” and “swimming pool,” so the general subject is usually recognisable. However, vocabulary is repetitive and several word choices or collocations make the meaning difficult to follow, such as “no rush type situation,” “provide every single activie,” and “the area of parking automatic become lessn.” Spelling errors, including “appartment,” “arrivies,” and “harmfull,” also reduce clarity. Aim for more precise phrases such as “reduce housing shortages,” “shared amenities,” and “parking capacity,” and check spelling carefully. Building a small set of accurate housing and urban-planning expressions would help you explain your ideas more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, including a conditional idea beginning “if flood or earth quick arrivies,” but control of sentence structure is very limited. Frequent errors can distort meaning: “I believe appartment is the best idea for the people who are living in the city are they get enough home” combines clauses without a workable grammatical connection, while “Tall apartment or blocks are not much better it cause” lacks clear sentence boundaries and agreement. Articles, plurals, and verb forms are also often inaccurate, as in “enough home” and “the appartment wil be.” Use shorter, complete sentences first, checking that each has a subject and verb. Then practise joining ideas with accurate “because,” “if,” and “although” clauses, and review punctuation between independent clauses.
