Student answer (Band 4.5)

This essay delve that the best way of providing homes in cities is by constructing taller apartment flats. I partially agree with it to constrict homes on the apartments in cities because living in the apartment creates vacancy for others morever in aparment privacy remains. By living in the taller apartment a person can enjoy view of the whole city.

There are many benefits in living in taller apartments but the most one crucial is privacy. Introverts only wants privacy and living in the taller apartment is paradise for them.

Some people believe that living in the taller apartment is just like living in the grave or hell as there is no enough space for fun activities. Living in the taller apartment means living under the shade of sun as taller apartment are too hot morever in taller apartment there is deficiency of oxygen and not good for elder people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You give a partial position with “I partially agree” and mention relevant points, including privacy, city views and concerns about space and heat. However, the response addresses the question only minimally: it does not explain how tall blocks would provide enough homes compared with other approaches, and the points are mostly asserted rather than supported with reasons or examples. The conclusion is unfinished, so your final position is not reinforced. The response is also 98 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to develop the argument. To improve, explain both why high-rise housing can increase capacity and what limitations make you only partly agree, then support each point with a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response into an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas are broadly related to housing in tall buildings. However, the progression is difficult to follow: the first paragraph introduces several claims, while the next paragraphs do not clearly develop or balance them. The final heading, “In conclusion,” has no concluding statement, and links between ideas are limited. Words such as “but” and “as” provide some connection, but the relationships between claims are not always clear. Use one paragraph for the benefits and another for drawbacks, connect each reason to the question, and finish with a complete summary of your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “apartment,” “privacy,” “vacancy,” and “deficiency of oxygen,” and attempt expressive language such as “paradise” and “grave or hell.” This gives you a basic range, but several choices are inaccurate or unnatural and sometimes make the meaning difficult to interpret. For example, “creates vacancy for others” does not clearly explain how apartment living makes homes available, and “living under the shade of sun” is unclear. Spelling errors such as “morever” and “aparment” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise housing terms and natural collocations, and check spelling. The suggestions below offer more suitable alternatives for some of your phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, for example, “Some people believe that living in the taller apartment is just like living in the grave or hell as there is no enough space for fun activities.” However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or unclear. Examples include “This essay delve,” “Introverts only wants,” and “taller apartment are too hot,” where subject–verb agreement is incorrect. Articles and sentence construction also need attention, as in “there is no enough space.” The unfinished conclusion further weakens the sentence-level control. Practise checking agreement, articles and plural forms, and build longer sentences around one clear main clause.
