Student answer (Band 5.0)
The better way to provide a lot of houses in urban areas is to constructe high apartment flats because it's easy to survive for overpopullation areas. I disscus on both oppinion with relevant example from my own knowledge.
There are many advantage of apartment in busy areas because mostly people leave countrysides and move to big cities. when people sattel in new cities mostly students they can't afforde for private house they easily sattel in flats in low buget. Afterthat mostly people live far from their workplace they easily live in apartment on rent and save time and also expensise of transporte. Recently, I went to islamabad for my ILTS test prepration because there are not proffesional acedmy in my area so, I went to islmabad and join FTI and also arrange apartment near the center for lived.
Mostly people can't live in apartment because they can't feel comfortable to live in public place so they prefer to live in private home. Apart from this many people liked to live at home with garden, private park and private pool and these facilitise can't provide by apartment blocks. My friend earn high amount weekly so' he pay 2000$ for their private house in main city because he prefer to live with family in proper privacy.
I think build tall apartment blocks are not safer for people because it's very high risk for people health because there are lot of death cases of craceked tall buildings for earthquake.
In conclusion, I believe that building tall apartment blocks is not the best way to solve the housing shortage in large cities because they can cause overcrowding and reduce privacy. Instead, the government should build more small houses and develop new residential areas outside city centres.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the question and give a position: the opening supports apartment construction, while the conclusion argues it is not the best solution. However, this shift makes your overall view difficult to follow, and the introduction says you will discuss both opinions without clearly stating your own extent of agreement. Relevant points include affordability and shorter commutes, as well as privacy and earthquake risks. The Islamabad example helps illustrate why a centrally located apartment can be useful, but the points about safety and alternatives are asserted rather than explained or supported. To strengthen the response, state a consistent position and develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
Your response has recognisable paragraphs for advantages, disadvantages, safety, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify the broad stages of your discussion. However, progression between these stages is not always clear: the opening favours tall flats, but the conclusion rejects them, and the separate safety paragraph is not linked clearly to the preceding disadvantages. Connectors such as “Afterthat” and “Apart from this” are used, but some transitions feel mechanical or do not show the precise relationship between ideas. The first paragraph also combines several points and a personal example without a clear sequence. Organise the essay around a consistent position, group related reasons together, and use linking phrases that make the argument’s development explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to urban housing, including “overcrowding,” “private house,” “workplace,” “privacy,” and “residential areas.” These choices show that you can communicate the main topic, but the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled expressions make parts harder to understand, such as “sattel,” “low buget,” “expensise of transporte,” and “craceked tall buildings.” Some phrases are also imprecise, including “public place” for shared apartment living and “a lot of houses” for housing provision. Build a more accurate set of topic collocations and check spelling; for example, use “affordable apartments,” “commuting costs,” and “earthquake-resistant buildings.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use some longer sentence patterns to explain causes and consequences, for example, linking migration to demand for affordable housing and describing the benefits of living near work. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “There are many advantage,” “I disscus on both oppinion,” and “I went to islmabad and join FTI.” The sentence beginning “I think build tall apartment blocks” also needs a grammatical subject form, such as “I think building tall apartment blocks…” Use a wider range of sentence patterns, but prioritise accurate basic clauses, consistent tense, and correct agreement before adding complexity.
