Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is surely hard nut to crack as some of the individuals believe that constructing multi-level buildings is the best way to provide shelter to people in big cities while other recks on that it is not a good idea. However, i completely agree with the stated notion and this essay sheds alight on both arguments along with my own point of view.
To commence with first thesis, it can be said that constructing large building helps to provide homes to a large number of migrates within reasonable price which reduce the house shortage. In addition, it also helps to save space as no wider area are required to build house and number of houses can be construct with short area of land. To illustrate, a survey was conducted by students which showed that almost more than 100 families were lived in a multi-level building that constructed within 1 acre only.
What is more, built a tall building also helps to save trees and land as no need for chopping the tree and forest to make space for constructing the houses undoubtedly this number of trees were saved as a result it improve environment also.
In contrast, number of people disapprove the stated notion as they have their own reasons like, in tall buildings one's privacy is reduce as number of families were lived their and one have to be very concise about their action. Moreover, living in a buildings may lead health issues as these are quite crowded and the person who wants to live normal life may panic in these houses.
finally to conclude, despite of having some disapprovals, I fully conclude with the above stated notion as it appeals one to be supported because these are quite cheaper as compare buying ones own house.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you completely agree that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes, and you give relevant reasons about accommodating more families on less land and keeping trees from being cleared. You also acknowledge opposing concerns, including privacy and possible health effects, so the response addresses both sides of the question. However, these counterarguments are only briefly stated, and the environmental point is not fully connected to why high-rise construction is the best solution. The example about 100 families on one acre is relevant, but its source and significance are not explained. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or a specific, credible example to make the argument more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, supporting paragraphs, a paragraph presenting objections, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To commence with,” “What is more,” and “In contrast” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, some links feel mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is not always clear. For example, the paragraph about trees moves quickly from avoiding land use to environmental improvement without explaining the connection, while “finally to conclude” is an awkward transition. Some references, such as “these houses,” are also not fully precise. Use fewer formulaic signposts and make each paragraph develop one central point through clear explanation and supporting detail.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “multi-level buildings,” “house shortage,” “privacy,” and “environment,” and the main ideas are generally understandable. However, word choice and collocation errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “hard nut to crack,” “recks on,” “sheds alight,” “migrates,” and “concise about their action”; these do not express the intended meanings naturally. There is also repetition of general terms such as “building,” “houses,” and “people.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “a challenging issue,” “argue that,” “sheds light on,” “migrants,” and “be mindful of their behaviour.” Proofread spelling and word forms, and choose precise vocabulary over ambitious but inaccurate phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as,” “which,” and “while,” and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction recur. For instance, “number of houses can be construct” needs a passive form, and “more than 100 families were lived” uses an incorrect verb pattern. In “no wider area are required,” the subject and verb do not agree, while “a buildings” has an article–plural mismatch. Some sentences also run together, particularly the sentence about trees and environmental benefits. Practise accurate passive constructions and subject–verb agreement, and use full stops or conjunctions to separate complete ideas.
