Student answer (Band 5.5)

In nowadays. there is alot of shortage of area for home in urban areas. The best way to provide enough homes for people is to build big apartments blocks. I completly agree with this idea and i will provide my knowledge with examples and reasons.

In todays world, we have seen alot of changes which is happening through out the world. In those changes, One is to build large apartments for people because in urban areas we have seen that there is not enough space for people to accomodate and this the best possible solution. For instance giving electricity connection to a people colony is more difficult instead of giving to a large tall building where alot of apartments available in one space.

On the second hand, it provide safety to the people who are living in the apartments. It make people safe at their own home rather than living in colony. For example, a family who are living in a home of an apartment fell safe and secure beacuse those buildings have 24/7 CCTV camera survilance and guards on the main gate of an aprtments.

In contrast, some people believe that building large apartments have high risk of falls. They fells that when an earthquake came on those big cities, the building will fall apart and people who are living in those building will loss their lives.

In conclusion, I agree with this solution. Building tall apartments for people is the right solution for less area consumption in metropolitan area. It help society and reduce environmental hazards.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction—“I completely agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons, including efficient use of urban space and the possible safety benefits of apartment buildings, and you acknowledge a counterargument about earthquake risk. These points address the question, but they are not developed equally: the electricity example is difficult to follow, and the safety claim relies mainly on CCTV and guards without explaining how these features relate specifically to tall blocks. The earthquake concern is also mentioned but not answered. To strengthen the response, explain each reason more fully and show why, despite the risks, tall apartments are the best way to provide enough homes.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraphs, a counterargument and a conclusion. The reader can follow the broad progression from space constraints to safety and then earthquake risk. However, connections between ideas are sometimes mechanical or unclear. “On the second hand” does not introduce the next point accurately, while “In contrast” signals opposition without explaining how the earthquake concern relates to your position. Some sentences also contain unclear references, such as “this the best possible solution” and “those big cities.” Use linking phrases that express the precise relationship between ideas, and make each paragraph develop one clear point with an explanation and example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “urban areas,” “apartments,” “earthquake,” and “environmental hazards,” so the main subject is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to interpret. For example, “shortage of area for home” is not a natural way to describe the problem, and “a people colony” and “less area consumption” are unclear. Spelling errors such as “completly,” “survilance,” and “aprtments” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of phrases for housing and urban planning, and check spelling and collocations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a reason introduced by “because” and an example beginning “For instance.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence formation, agreement, tense, articles and punctuation sometimes make the reader work to understand your meaning. Examples include “In nowadays.”, “it provide safety,” “It make people safe,” and “a family who are living.” The sentence about electricity is also difficult to parse because its clauses are not connected clearly. Practise forming complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, articles and verb forms. A careful final edit for sentence boundaries and punctuation would make your ideas much easier to follow.
