Student answer (Band 6.0)
The rising demand of homes in large cities is always a concern for the authorities and local people. As a city grows, the number of jobs increase with a increase in the demand of homes, parks and other basic requirements for people.
In my opinion, I agrees with the suggestion in order to provide enough homes, tall apartment blocks can be build in large cities. It will be helpful in accomodating more people in a smaller area of land, instead of expanding the cities it will increase the cities towards the sky. This will also help in reduced travel for work and shoping as people don't have to travel from a countryside to the city as their is more housing available due to tall apartment blocks. It is also advantageous as compared to normal housing which has very low capacity and uses equal area of land.
On the other hand these apartment blocks may become a reason for concern if these aren't handeled properly because in these kind of conjusted area people may feel suffocation, or during an emergency like fire safe exit routes should also be available. Also local authorities should also take necessary steps so that all apartmental blocks meet the required safety standards and it should follow all the mentioned guidelines.
From this we can conlude that idea of building tall apartment buildings is very helpful for large cities where enough land is not available for new homes, but this should be done by considering all the aspects and every new build should be approved by local authorities and should follow the standard rules and regulations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment blocks can help provide homes in large cities, and you also acknowledge safety concerns. The response addresses both the proposed solution and a qualification, with relevant points about using less land, reducing travel, and providing safe exits. This is why the main task is covered. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that apartment blocks reduce travel would be stronger if you explained how locating homes near jobs and shops achieves this. The comparison with “normal housing” is also unclear, and the conclusion mainly repeats your position. Develop each key reason with a specific explanation or example to make the argument more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting apartment blocks, a paragraph considering risks, and a conclusion. The contrast marker “On the other hand” helps signal the shift to safety concerns, while “From this” introduces the final summary. This gives the reader a coherent route through your argument. Some connections are less clear or repetitive, however. The first sentence of the introduction lists jobs, homes, parks, and other requirements without showing precisely how these points lead to your position. In the final paragraph, “this” and “every new build” could refer more explicitly to the proposal or to individual buildings. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and avoid repeating “also” within the same sentence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “authorities,” “accommodating,” “safety standards,” and “available,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts to express more specific ideas, such as “safe exit routes” and “required safety standards.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “demand of homes,” “increase the cities towards the sky,” and “apartmental blocks.” Spelling errors such as “accomodating,” “shoping,” “handeled,” and “conjusted” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural topic-specific phrases, and check spelling carefully; this will make your argument sound more precise and fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional clause in “if these aren't handled properly” and a comparison using “instead of.” Most of the argument remains understandable, which shows some control of sentence construction. Some grammatical errors persist, particularly with subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “the number of jobs increase” should use a singular verb, and “I agrees” should be “I agree.” In “can be build,” the passive form requires “built”; “a increase” also needs the correct article. The final sentence shifts between “this” and “it” in a way that makes the reference and agreement less secure. Review these patterns and proofread sentence by sentence.
