Student answer (Band 5.0)
The best way to provide homes in big cities is to build tall buildings. Although I partly agree that tall building can provide more homes by taking less land, and also provide safety and security but many people prefer homes on land.
To begin with, in today's world population is increasing more than before and large cities can face difficulties with less land because with home families need parks, hospitals, schools whereas, building tall apartmment blocks can be very helpfull. To explain, tall buildings take less land and provide more homes and also many building athorities provide security cameras internet, for the safety fire extinguishers. For example, in Dubai Burj Khalifa the tallest building provide many things such appartments, shoping malls, super markets and different resturants by taking small piece of land.
In the other hand, some people still beleives living in land home have many advantages. to extand, people who are very strick with their privacy because in building apartments are very close to each other and many peoples likes to do late night parties which can cause problems. For example,

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a relevant, partly agreeing position: tall blocks can house more people on less land, while some residents prefer houses for privacy. The Dubai example also supports the point about combining homes and services. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the advantages are explained more than the disadvantages, and the second example is left unfinished after “For example,”. The reasons about privacy and late-night parties are introduced but not developed into a complete explanation or example, so your position is not fully supported. The response is also below the required 250 words, which limits how fully you can develop both sides. Extend each main idea with a clear explanation and a completed, relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting tall buildings, and a paragraph presenting a counterargument. Linking phrases such as “To begin with,” “For example,” and “On the other hand” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression is limited because ideas within paragraphs are often listed rather than connected through explanation, and the final paragraph stops before its example is given. Some links are also awkward or inaccurate, such as “In the other hand,” while “whereas” does not clearly connect the ideas in the opening body paragraph. Develop a complete sequence in each paragraph—claim, explanation, and example—and use linking expressions that accurately show the relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “population,” “privacy,” “security cameras,” and “fire extinguishers.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “apartments” and “supermarkets.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which can make parts less clear: “provide safety and security” is vague, and “living in land home” does not express the intended contrast naturally. Spelling errors such as “apartmment,” “helpfull,” “athorities,” and “resturants” are noticeable. Build a more precise range for discussing housing and urban planning, and check spelling and natural word combinations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a concession in “Although I partly agree…” and a reason clause beginning “because.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, the opening sentence joins an “Although” clause to “but” without a complete grammatical structure, and “people who are very strict with their privacy” is an incomplete sentence. There are also problems with agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “many people prefer” following a singular subject earlier, and the lower-case sentence beginning “to extand.” Practise writing complete sentences with one clear main clause, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement, articles, and punctuation.
