Student answer (Band 6.0)
The best way to provide enough houses in big cities is to constructed tall apartments blocks is a controversial issue today. While some argue that build skyscraper apartment blocks leads to create a lot of pollution, I strongly believe that constructed tall apartment blocks help to saves space. This essay will explain why i support this perspective.
The primary reason for my opinion is that tall apartment buildings can accommodate a large number of people in a limited space. For example, big cities have large populations, so the demand for housing is high. There for building a tall apartment buildings is apractical solution because they can accommodate more families in a limited space. Although constructing tall apartment buildings causes pollution during the contruction period, I believe that their advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
Another key argument is that living in a skyscraper building is convenient and safe. For example, generally, tall buildings have a gym and swimming pools. Also markets and hospitals are often located nearby. Therefore, it will be convenient for them to live in there with families. In addition, security guards are always present to help ensure the safety of residents. Also CCTV cameras can help protect residents from potential dangers. As result, people can have more comfortable and secure lifestyle. Furthermore, having essential facilities nearby can save residents a lot of time.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that the best way to provide enough homes in big cities is to build tall apartment blocks is beneficial because it saves space and provides convenience and safety for residents. As a result, families can enjoy a more comfortable lifestyle without worrying about their safety.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you strongly support tall apartment blocks, mainly because they use space efficiently and can offer convenience and security. These are relevant reasons, and you acknowledge a counterpoint about pollution before explaining why you consider the benefits greater. However, the pollution point is only briefly mentioned, and the second body paragraph focuses largely on facilities and security rather than explaining how these features make tall blocks the best way to provide enough homes. Develop the comparison with alternatives, such as low-rise housing or expanding city boundaries, and support your claims with a specific example. This would make the argument more fully developed across all parts of the question.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion that restates your position. The ideas generally progress logically, and examples follow the points they are intended to support. Cohesion is sometimes mechanical, however, because several sentences begin with “Also,” “Therefore,” or “As a result.” Some connections are also unclear: “Therefore, it will be convenient for them to live in there with families” does not clearly identify who “them” refers to, and the link between nearby facilities and the claim that tall buildings provide enough homes could be made more explicit. Use a wider range of linking methods and clearer references, while showing how each paragraph supports your central argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “accommodate,” “limited space,” “pollution,” “security guards,” and “potential dangers.” This gives you enough language to communicate your main ideas, but word choice and collocation are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive. For example, “constructed tall apartments blocks” is not a natural phrase, and “a comfortable and secure lifestyle” would be more idiomatic than “more comfortable and secure lifestyle.” There are also spelling errors such as “contruction” and “There for,” which reduce accuracy. Aim to use precise housing-related expressions and check spelling and word forms carefully. More varied vocabulary for comparing housing approaches would also help you express the argument with greater flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a concession clause beginning “Although constructing tall apartment buildings causes pollution” and a reason clause introduced by “because.” Most of the meaning remains understandable, but some errors occur in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For instance, “is to constructed” should use the infinitive “is to construct,” while “help to saves space” should be “help to save space.” The opening sentence also combines its ideas awkwardly, and “the best way … is to build … is beneficial” creates a faulty structure in the conclusion. Practise building accurate sentences around one main clause, then check verb forms and agreement. Greater control of these structures would make your argument smoother.
