Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's world everyone just want to avail the best opportunity to build their future which is only available in big and devoloped cities and in this case the population of large cities is increasing day by day which is a big problem for authorities. There should be more buildings and apartments so that the rising population can survive easily.
I truly believe that constructing more apartments can easily solve this problem of over population. It is effective way to miximize limited urban land. Big buildings can carry tons of people inside and it really do not need a very large space in the city. And in today's world there is every facility in the apartment if we compare that with a proper house. For instance, New york and tokyo highly dependent on buidings and apartments due to their increasing population and foreign visitors. I hundered percent beileve that after building skyscrapers, this will not just solve population issue but this devolpment can also give more buisness to the private comapnies and government from which a city and country can grow much more faster in every domain. From late nintees every big city like karachi, mumbai, newyork implementing the same strategy. One of the most biggest reason in rising population in a big city is number of students and they also prefer to live in a apartment because a apartment will be in their budget and they dont have to worry much about maintenance.
I really think that the government and the construction authorities should take intiative to build more skyscrapers in the big city to stop this population issue and people can live much more comfortably.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you strongly support building more apartments and skyscrapers to address housing pressure in large cities. You give relevant reasons, including making better use of limited land, accommodating students, and reducing maintenance costs, and you refer to cities such as New York and Tokyo. This addresses the question, but some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that apartments provide “every facility” compared with houses is broad, and the link between skyscraper construction and wider economic growth needs a clearer explanation or example. The response also focuses almost entirely on benefits, without considering whether tall blocks alone are sufficient or noting a possible drawback. Develop and support these less-developed points to make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a main paragraph presenting reasons, and a concluding recommendation. The ideas are generally relevant and can be followed, with examples placed alongside the claims they support. However, most of the argument is packed into one long body paragraph, so distinct points—land use, economic benefits, and student housing—are not clearly separated. Connections also rely heavily on repeated forms such as “and” and “because,” while phrases like “in this case” and “from which” do not always make the relationship between ideas precise. Use separate paragraphs for the main reasons and link each one explicitly to the central argument. This would create clearer progression and reduce the sense of a list.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “population,” “urban land,” “skyscrapers,” “maintenance,” and “private companies,” which helps communicate your main ideas. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “big,” “problem,” and “build,” and several choices or combinations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “miximize limited urban land,” “carry tons of people inside,” and “stop this population issue.” Spelling errors such as “devoloped,” “buidings,” and “beileve” are noticeable and reduce the overall control of vocabulary. Aim for more precise housing and planning terms, and check spelling carefully. For instance, describe apartments as “accommodating a large number of residents” rather than saying they “carry” people.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the main message is usually understandable. However, errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “everyone just want” needs a singular verb, while “It is effective way” is missing an article. In “Big buildings can carry tons of people inside and it really do not need,” the pronoun reference and verb agreement are faulty. Some sentences also run together, as in “city. And in today's world,” and the long sentence beginning “I hundered percent beileve” contains several ideas that would be clearer if divided. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and article use, and punctuate sentence boundaries consistently. Shorter, controlled sentences can help you express complex points more clearly.
