Student answer (Band 6.0)
The urban cities are getting populated. With this urban sprawl, the need of high rise building is also in demand. The best way is to create a systematic infrastructure which can favor building and aswell as housing schemes. i partially agree with this statement.
Due to globalization and the advent of technology, many people have understood the benefit of living in urban cities. You can earn well and have a better living standards. Because of this, many people move to large cities. As a result, such cities face issue like over-population. With a high rate of people migrating to large cities, it brings more problem aswell, for instance road traffic, expensive housing, and other expense related problems.
One way of resolving this problem is by efficiently building an infrastructure with tall buildings. These buildings would bring more space for more other buildings and there will be enough land for other developments too. When there will be enough building to accomdate people, the pricing of properties will be stable. Such planning would not be only beneficial for the economy, but it will also help the people's livelihood.
Moreover, not everyone prefer to live in tall buildings and apartments. Alot of people dont like the idea of living in tall buildings. For instance, people who live in joint family system would like to live in houses. People who have elderly people in their family, prefer to live in house so it can accomodate the need of them. Additionally, many people are also fearful of living in buildings after hearing the news about fire breakouts in apartments.
In my opinion, urban large cities must build an infrastructure with tall buildings, such planning would definately help the cities, it's economy, and welfare of the people but at the same time, they should also consider building houses for those people who choose not to live in building and prefer houses instead.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you partially agree that tall apartment blocks can help meet housing demand, while arguing that cities should also provide houses for people who prefer them. You address both sides and give relevant reasons, including land use, property prices, joint families, and concerns about fire safety. This covers the task well. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, explain more precisely how building upwards would free land for other development, and support the claim that prices would become stable. The examples about family needs and fire risks are relevant, but could be connected more directly to why tall blocks should not be the sole solution. More developed support would make the argument more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction, reasons for urban housing pressure, benefits of tall buildings, a counterpoint, and a concluding position. Paragraphing helps the reader follow this progression, and links such as “As a result,” “Moreover,” and “Additionally” signal relationships between ideas. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. The opening moves quickly from urban growth to infrastructure and then to your position, without clearly setting out the two sides of your argument. Phrases such as “With a high rate of people migrating … it brings more problem” make the relationship between cause and effect unclear. Use clearer topic sentences and refer back to the central question more consistently; this would make the progression feel more deliberate rather than relying mainly on linking phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “globalization,” “over-population,” “infrastructure,” “livelihood,” and “fire breakouts.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas, but the range and control are uneven, with repeated general words such as “people,” “buildings,” and “problem.” Several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “urban cities,” “need of high rise building,” “other expense related problems,” and “accommodate the need of them.” Spelling and form errors such as “aswell,” “Alot,” “accomdate,” and “definately” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise housing and planning vocabulary, and check standard spelling and natural word combinations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including cause-and-effect clauses and a concession: “not everyone prefer to live in tall buildings” and “but at the same time, they should also consider…”. Most of the argument remains understandable, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors recur across sentence types. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “not everyone prefer,” “many people move” followed by “it brings more problem,” and “such planning would not be only beneficial.” There are also article, number, and punctuation problems, as in “a better living standards” and the comma splice in the final sentence. Review agreement, articles, plural forms, and sentence boundaries, then proofread complex sentences to ensure each clause is grammatically complete.
