Student answer (Band 6.0)
With increasing population, it has become a need to fulfil the housing capacities for all the people, specifically in large cities. For this purpose, the government and the building companies support the idea of building tall aprtment blocks. I do agree that tall apartment block serve as providing a sufficient place for people in cities.
One argument to support this idea is that tall apartment blocks take lesser space as compared to the houses on the flat lands. For instance if a house is built on 2 acres as single storey, it would be enough for 2-4 people with 2-3 rooms. On the other hand, if a tall building or a double storey is built in the same land that would accomodate 6 people with 6-7 rooms. Supporting this idea, the tall apartment blocks increase the accomodation as the storeys or the blocks go on increasing within the same space.
Another idea is that tall apartment blocks also support huge housing businesses, as people can generate a greater revenue by supporting the housing for above 10 families in tall buildings within specified area. However, if the houses are built on that land the business might not be as profitable. Moreover, the tall apartment blocks also increase the accessibility of people to pharmacy or stores as the first block of the builidng can be allocated to the stores. In addition, it also reduces the hassle of parking as tall apartment blocks have designated basement for car parking.
Adding up all the points, tall apartment blocks are much feasible to support and fulfil housing needs in large cities as they accomodate larger group of people in limited area supporting the businesses and the chaos of increasing population.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment blocks can help meet housing needs in large cities. You support this with relevant points about using less land, accommodating more residents, and combining housing with shops and parking. These address the task, but some support is not fully convincing or developed. The comparison between a single-storey house and a “double storey” building does not clearly demonstrate the capacity of tall apartment blocks, and the business-revenue point is asserted rather than explained. The conclusion restates your view but adds little synthesis. To strengthen the response, explain the practical benefits with more precise examples and acknowledge a limitation or alternative, while keeping your position clear.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present supporting reasons, and a conclusion summarises your position. Sequencing within the paragraphs is generally understandable, and signposts such as “One argument,” “Another idea,” and “Moreover” help readers follow the discussion. However, the linking can feel mechanical, and some connections between claims are not fully clear. For example, the shift from housing businesses to access to pharmacies and parking introduces several benefits without showing how they relate to the main argument. The final sentence also combines multiple points in a crowded way. Group related ideas more deliberately and use clearer references and transitions to show how each example supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “housing capacities,” “accommodation,” “revenue,” “accessibility,” and “designated basement.” These choices make the subject clear, and some less common terms show an effort to discuss urban housing precisely. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “fulfil the housing capacities,” “tall apartment block serve as providing,” and “the chaos of increasing population.” Spelling errors in “aprtment,” “accomodate,” and “builidng” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural combinations such as “meet housing demand” and “provide accommodation,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would make your reasoning sound clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional comparisons beginning “if a house is built” and clauses introduced by “as” and “if.” Most of the meaning remains clear, and errors rarely prevent the reader from following your argument. Some grammatical problems persist, however. In “tall apartment block serve,” the subject and verb do not agree; “I do agree that tall apartment block serve as providing” also has an awkward and faulty clause structure. Articles and number are inconsistent in phrases such as “a double storey” and “the tall apartment blocks.” Review agreement, singular and plural forms, and sentence construction, then proofread punctuation and clause boundaries. Greater control of these patterns would make the complex sentences more reliable.
