Student answer (Band 5.5)

In ou days lot of people struggle to find home to live especially in big citiles, that is why building tall apartment is the solution that many countries are taking it to resolve this problem but as it may seems that is action is the best for this situation many option can be considerated.

Building tall appartment means providing more number of home for people, instead of hosting only 40 humans, a tall apartment can host more than 100 humans or even more. Second, tall apartment blocks are much sheaper to build than small apartment because instead of building two seperate buildings in different areas with different budget building a tall one that can host the same numbers of people is a win for goverments. Also, the cost renting in tall apartments is much sheaper than renting an independent house especially for employees and students.

But, as it may seem that tall apartment are the perfect solution it also had many disavantages. Living in tall apartment means accept living in the same place with people from different backgrpuns, religions and countries and this cause many conflits between the member of the apartment.Adding to that, houses or rooms in tall departments are known for being too small some of them does not even have a kitchen which is not gonna be comfortable to live in especially for familes. Also, if we goverments are going for this solution tall building goinh to be everywhere so countries gonna lose their vibe and countries gonne look all alike.

The issue of providing enough home is a wilde wide problem that many countries are facing , one of the solution can can help reduce it is building tall appartment blocks but it can not be the main solution and goverment should look for alternatives such as reducing the rent.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the question and give a qualified position: tall apartment blocks can help, but should not be the only response. The body paragraphs offer relevant reasons, including housing more residents and potentially reducing construction and rental costs, followed by concerns about shared living, small rooms, and uniform-looking cities. However, the position is not fully clear at the start, and several claims are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that tall blocks are cheaper would be stronger with a clear comparison of land, construction, or infrastructure costs. The disadvantages also need more precise support, particularly the suggestion that residents from different backgrounds will cause conflict. Develop each main point with a specific explanation or example and state your degree of agreement consistently throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting tall blocks, a paragraph presenting drawbacks, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes weak, and linking is repetitive or awkward. The repeated openings “Second,” “But,” and “Adding to that” connect points mechanically rather than showing their precise relationship. Some references are also unclear, such as “that is action” and “this cause,” which make the reader pause to identify what they refer to. The conclusion repeats the main position but introduces reducing rent without explaining how it relates to the earlier discussion. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each reason to its consequence, and make references explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “apartment blocks,” “renting,” “employees and students,” and “alternatives.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to read. Examples include “citiles,” “sheaper,” “disavantages,” and “backgrpuns”; “host humans” is also an unnatural way to describe housing residents. Repeated use of “tall apartment” and “solution” limits variety. Aim to learn accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise choices such as “accommodate residents” and “housing shortage” would make your argument clearer and more appropriate for an academic essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including contrast with “But” and a conditional idea beginning “if governments are going for this solution.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors in sentence formation, agreement, articles, and punctuation sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. For example, “many option can be considerated” has problems with number and verb form, while “tall apartment blocks are much cheaper … than small apartment” has an unclear comparison and missing plural marking. Several sentences run together, particularly the paragraph beginning “But, as it may seem,” where full stops and commas are needed to separate ideas. Practise building accurate sentences first, then combine them using controlled subordinate clauses and check subject–verb agreement and articles.
