Student answer (Band 5.5)

As compared to previous years housing in metro cities have increased drastically. In certain part of the country the effective way to provide adequate place is to build tall building with more number of apartments to live in I agree firmly agree with the statement as this will be one way to use land in best possible way and also it has more amenities a single house can have.

On the one hand, living in apartment means a single piece of land can accommodate more people than a single house can with their own space and privacy. For example, a survey was conducted by Times Now which outlined that a fewer number of humans can reside in an apartment and are happy as compared to people living and sharing the space with other people in a singular house. Thus, apartment are better way to use land and enjoying life as well.

On the other hand, facilities that an apartment can provide are way more better than a person can afford in a house. To exemplify, every person cannot have a swimming pool, a play area, party room, gym under one roof as this require a lot of amount to have it. However an apartment all these services as the builders provide theses comforts and we pay little amount for using these under one roof. Thus, apartments can offer way more luxuries a house can.

To conclude, the best way to provide enough homes in metropolis cities is to have home in tall building as they provide services under a single roof and also the more useful way of utilizing a piece of land. I strongly agree with the statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you strongly support tall apartment buildings, and both body paragraphs give relevant reasons—more residents can share a plot of land, and shared facilities may be more affordable. The conclusion also restates your view. However, the first example is unclear and does not convincingly support the claim: the survey is said to show that fewer people can live in an apartment, which conflicts with your point about accommodating more residents. The facilities paragraph is more persuasive, but it focuses on luxury amenities rather than directly explaining how these make enough homes available. Develop the housing-capacity argument with a specific, logical example and connect each reason more explicitly to the question.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” helps readers follow the overall arrangement. However, some links are mechanical, and the progression within paragraphs is not always clear. In the first body paragraph, the survey claim appears to contradict the point that apartments accommodate more people, while “Thus” does not resolve that contradiction. The second paragraph moves from facilities to affordability but needs a clearer explanation of how this supports the central argument. Use more precise referencing and ensure each example directly develops the paragraph’s main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “apartment,” “privacy,” “amenities,” “swimming pool,” and “utilizing a piece of land.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “To exemplify” and “metropolis cities.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “adequate place,” “more number of apartments,” “a lot of amount,” and “way more luxuries.” Some repetition of “apartment,” “house,” and “under one roof” also limits flexibility. Aim for more precise housing and urban-planning vocabulary, and check that phrases sound natural in context. This would make your meaning clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as,” “which,” and “as compared to.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors make parts of the response difficult to follow. For example, the opening has subject–verb disagreement in “housing … have increased,” and the sentence beginning “In certain part” runs into “I agree firmly agree” without clear sentence boundaries. There are also errors with articles, plurals, and agreement, as in “apartment are” and “this require.” Improve control of sentence boundaries and check subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms. More accurate complex sentences would help express your reasoning clearly.
