Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, many people are moving to large cities for better jobs and education. Some people believe that building tall apartment blocks is the best solution. I partly agree because apartment save space, but other housing options are also important.
On the one hamd, tall apartment buildings can provide homes for many people in a small area. This is very useful in large cities where land is expensive and limited. Moreover, people can a live near their workplaces. schools and hospitals, which saves both time and money. For example, in cities like Delhi and Mumbai, many families live in flats because separate houses require more land and money. Therefore, buliding apartments can help the government provide affordable homes to more people.
On the other hand, building only tall apatments is not the perfect solution. Some people prefer small houses because they offer more privacy and space for children. In addition, too many tall buildings can create traffic problems and put pressure on water, electricity and other public services. For instance, in some Indian cities, crowded residential areas face parking problems and water shortages. Therefore, governments should also build houses in less crowded areas and im[prove public transport and basic facilities. They should plan these areas carefully to ensure a better living a environment for everyone.
In conclusion, I partly agree that tall apartment blocks are a good way to provide homes in large cities. However, governments should also develop other types of housings. This will helps people find sutiable and affordable homes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you partly agree because apartments save space, while other housing options also matter. You address both sides with relevant reasons, including limited urban land, proximity to services, privacy, and pressure on infrastructure. The Delhi and Mumbai examples help make the discussion concrete. This meets the task well, and the response shows some development beyond simply listing points. However, several ideas remain general: for example, the effects of traffic and pressure on services are mentioned but not explained in detail, and the alternatives to tall blocks are not specified beyond building in less crowded areas. Develop one or two points further with a clear explanation of how they support your position to make the argument more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, contrasting body paragraphs, and a conclusion that restates your position. Paragraphing is appropriate, and signposts such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” make the main stages easy to follow. Ideas generally progress logically from the benefits of apartments to their drawbacks. Some cohesion is less controlled, however. The first body paragraph begins “On the one hamd,” and the sentence around “workplaces. schools and hospitals” interrupts the flow; the final body paragraph also contains a run-together transition in “facilities.They.” These issues make the linking occasionally mechanical or unclear. Use punctuation consistently and connect examples directly to the point they illustrate, rather than relying mainly on set phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “limited land,” “affordable homes,” “privacy,” “public services,” and “water shortages.” These choices communicate the main ideas clearly, and terms such as “residential areas” suit the subject. There are also some inaccurate or awkward forms that limit precision, including “apartments” where “apartment blocks” would be clearer, “other types of housings,” and “a better living a environment.” Spelling slips such as “buliding,” “apatments,” and “sutiable” are noticeable, although the intended meanings remain understandable. To strengthen this area, check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases, such as “put pressure on public services” and “a suitable home,” rather than translating word by word.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because they offer more privacy” and a purpose clause in “to ensure a better living environment.” Most sentences communicate their meaning, and the contrast between advantages and disadvantages is grammatically understandable. Some errors remain in sentence boundaries and grammatical forms. For example, “people can a live” contains an unnecessary article, “workplaces. schools” incorrectly separates items in a list, and “This will helps” uses the wrong verb form after “will.” The phrase “This is very useful” is followed by a list that needs consistent punctuation. Review auxiliary verb patterns, articles, and sentence punctuation, then proofread each sentence for a complete and correctly joined structure.
