Student answer (Band 5.0)
I have two prospactive on homes in large cities one is if we are buliding the tall apartment blocks its good for over populated cities like we can build appartments and tall buildings but due to inflation rate not everyone can afford the apartment or indepandent flat so if we are building small homes so its deficults for those people who can not aford these homes so for urban ares we should have to build tall buildings and and small apartments near the metro stations and offices so people can take advantages.
There is also a negtive effect if we are building the too much tall buildings it becomes massy ,over crowded and dirty but with some good planings we can short these problems to build a team who can take charge of cleaning and controling the crowds . So there is also a positive thing is tall building appartments people can afford it . But for small cities we should have to build small houses and less tall buldings we should have to bulid houses near schools and markets so familes can take advantages and spend a peacfull time with there familes

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address the topic and give a partly clear position: tall apartments are suitable for crowded urban areas, while smaller houses may suit small cities. You also mention affordability, access to transport and services, and possible overcrowding. However, the response only partially answers how tall blocks are the best way to provide enough homes; the advantages and disadvantages are asserted rather than explained with specific examples or developed reasoning. The position is also difficult to follow when you say apartments are unaffordable, then later say people can afford them. The response is below the required 250 words, which limits the opportunity to develop your ideas. State your degree of agreement clearly and support each main point with a concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some basic organisation: the first paragraph discusses urban housing, and the second introduces disadvantages and contrasts large cities with small ones. This gives the reader a general sense of the topics. However, progression within the paragraphs is weak, and several ideas are joined together without clear relationships. For example, affordability, building near metro stations, and taking advantage of facilities appear in one long sequence. Linking phrases such as “There is also” and “So” are repeated and do not always show the precise connection between points. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and counterpoint, and make each paragraph develop one central idea with clear transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “over populated cities,” “inflation rate,” “metro stations,” “crowds,” and “schools and markets.” These choices show an attempt to discuss housing and urban planning. However, the range is limited and several spelling errors or imprecise expressions make parts of the response harder to understand, such as “prospactive,” “massy,” and “take advantages.” Repetition of “tall buildings,” “small homes,” and “build” also restricts variety. Aim for accurate, topic-specific phrases and check spelling carefully. For instance, you could describe housing as “high-density apartments” and explain that a city needs “affordable accommodation” or “well-planned public spaces.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences using “if,” “but,” and “so,” and you include some simple sentence forms. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty, which sometimes makes the intended meaning difficult to follow. In “if we are buliding the tall apartment blocks its good,” the conditional clause lacks clear punctuation and the main clause needs a subject-verb structure such as “they are good.” There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “There is also a negtive effect if we are building the too much tall buildings.” Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then combine them accurately with conjunctions and punctuation.
