Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent times, there has been an argument that providing tall apartments to the people of large cities is the best option of accommodation. I strongly agree with this development because it can provide more play grounds to children and also reduce the trafic accidents.
The first reason behid choosing this opinion is that this can provide playgrounds to children in cities. Nowadays, in most of the cities, most of the people built big houses and left no place for children to play sports and games. Even only one stadium is situated in some cities and not everyone can go there. But a tall apartment can replace the big houses and also accomodate more people than a big house. Resultantly, childrens will be able to play in different lands. For instance, Karachi has many national and international cricket players because they have many playgrounds in their city.
Moreover, the second major reason is that this will reduce the accidents which are often seen in cities road. In some cities, it can be seen the roads are either narrow or one-way. Everyone wants to reach their designation early than others. Consequently, they get hit by someone or hit someone else. When the houses occupy less area, governments can build two-way roads and improve the roads. As a result, the traffic accidents will be controled.
In conclusion, i would say that the tall apartments as home to city people is a good decision because it will reduce traffic accidents and give children a space for playing sports.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that tall apartments are a good solution, and you give two reasons—more space for children to play and fewer traffic accidents. These points are relevant, but the response only partially develops the task because it does not explain directly why apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes, or compare them with other possible approaches. The playground argument is supported by a reference to Karachi, although the link between apartment construction and the number of playgrounds needs clearer explanation. The road-safety point also needs more support to show how taller buildings would lead to safer roads. Develop each reason with a more explicit cause-and-effect explanation and a specific, relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. Sequencing phrases such as “The first reason,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the progression. This coherent structure meets the expected level, and the main ideas are generally easy to identify. However, some connections are mechanical, and the reasoning within paragraphs is not always smoothly linked. For example, the move from limited playgrounds to Karachi’s cricket players does not fully explain how apartment blocks would create more play areas. Likewise, the road-safety paragraph moves quickly from narrow roads to accidents and then to two-way roads. Use clearer references and explain each link between claims so cohesion feels more natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main points, including “tall apartments,” “playgrounds,” “roads,” and “traffic accidents.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “national and international cricket players.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors make parts less natural. Examples include “providing tall apartments to the people,” “designation” for a destination, “traffic accidents” misspelled as “trafic accidents,” and “different lands” for places or areas to play. These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your overall argument, but they reduce precision. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for housing and urban planning, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mixture of simple sentences and some longer structures, including cause-and-effect clauses with “because,” “when,” and “Consequently.” This gives the response some variety, and the overall meaning is usually clear. However, the range remains limited, and errors occur in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For example, “in some cities, it can be seen the roads are either narrow” has an awkward clause structure; “childrens will be able” has an incorrect plural form; and “the tall apartments as home to city people is a good decision” has a subject–verb agreement problem. Capitalisation is also inconsistent in “i would say.” Practise accurate complex clauses and check agreement and sentence structure when editing.
