Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this period of globalization, many people are prefer to live in tall apartments instead of homes. Tall apartments are more budget friendly as compare to homes. In my opinion, I strongly agree with building tall apartments and my opinion will be discussed in further paragraphs with a suitable conclusion.
Supporting my arguments to the given statement, I firmly believe that vertical residential area can be a better choice to manage the urban land and it will also help to maintain the best traffic routes for public. To cite an example, New York city is one of them in which large numbers of tower type buildings constructed. And this city give a charming look from above the ground. These type of cities have multiple numbers of oppurtunities such job, education, business etc. These are the reasons which force people to shift in big cities. As more people are shifting from rural areas to developed regions it will cost the administartion in term of land mangment, public health services and other basic requirments.
Now, Administration should be keen to tackle the situation. Otherwise, it will leave impact on people lifes as well as on other species. When there is no appropriate avaliable resources and residential areas for people, it will rise the crime ratio in society like fight, haressment, target killing etc. In large cities the standard of life is very high and it also provide the large amount of chances to upgrade yourself. The environment, community and facilities are in bulk as compare to countryside areas.
In conclusion, building tall apartment blocks in large cities is a best roadmap to entertain the people for accomodation. I believe that aforementioned points are strongly supporting my view point.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you strongly support building tall apartment blocks, and you give relevant points about using urban land and accommodating people moving to cities. The New York example also helps connect your argument to a real city. However, the response only partly develops the central question of whether tall blocks are the best way to provide enough homes. Several claims—such as their effect on traffic, crime, and quality of life—are asserted without explaining how high-rise housing causes these outcomes or providing specific support. The discussion of city opportunities and countryside facilities is also not clearly linked to housing provision. Develop fewer points in more depth and consider a limitation or alternative before concluding.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the main position is repeated at the end. Some linking phrases, including “To cite an example” and “In conclusion,” help signal the direction of the essay. However, progression within the body paragraphs is not consistently clear: the first moves from land management to New York’s appearance, then to jobs and public services, while the connection between these points is often left implicit. The second paragraph shifts from crime to living standards and facilities without a clear sequence. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main reason, then organise supporting explanation and examples around that reason; avoid relying on formulaic transitions alone.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to urban development, including “vertical residential area,” “land management,” “public health services” and “residential areas.” This shows an effort to discuss the topic beyond very basic terms. However, the range is limited by repeated general wording such as “people,” “large cities” and “facilities,” and several choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear: “entertain the people for accomodation,” “charming look from above the ground,” and “multiple numbers of opportunities.” Spelling errors such as “oppurtunities,” “administartion” and “avaliable” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of housing-related expressions and check spelling and natural word combinations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and some longer structures, including the conditional sentence beginning “When there is no appropriate…,” so there is an attempt to vary sentence forms. However, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to follow. Examples include “many people are prefer,” where the verb form is incorrect, “large numbers of tower type buildings constructed,” which lacks a correctly formed verb, and “this city give,” where subject–verb agreement is missing. Articles and plurals also need attention, as in “a best roadmap” and “These type of cities.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking agreement, articles and verb forms in each sentence.
