Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people believe that it is important to build tall apartment blocks in large cities to provide enough homes. I partially agree with this statement there are also some drawbacks of tall apartments.
Most people think that it is much essential to build tall apartment blocks to provide enough homes in large cities. Tall apartments did not required enough land to construct homes for people. Thousands of people can live in a building, due to the apartment every one have their own house. Furthermore, some people think that apartments are much convenient than other houses. People have a great bond with each other because they live very close to each other. There are a lot advantages of build tall apartment blocks it does not required enough land to construct, budget friendly and safety. For instance, some people believe that who live in apartments feels much safer as compared to live in a traditional house because the house has enough open spaces and the apartment is totally closed and people live near to each other.
Some people believes that it is not a good idea to build tall apartments blocks in large cities to provide enough homes. Moreover, if the tall apartment is constructed in such area where there is no such facilities like schools, hospitals, parks, and shopping malls. Due to this, people have to face a lot of difficulties. The government should apply some strategies that owners does not sale their land on high prices, so that individual can afford land to build their own house rather than to live in a apartment. Additionally, the government should also give facilities in suburb areas so that individuals can easily live here.
To conclude, I agree with that it is a crucial step to build tall apartment blocks because can residents easily afford a house in a tall building and we should not neglect our suburb areas because life living here is quit reasonable.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is identifiable: you partially agree, and the conclusion supports apartment construction while also recognising the value of suburbs. You give relevant reasons, including efficient land use, affordability, safety, and access to services. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The benefits are repeated in several forms, while the concern about facilities is introduced briefly and not explained with a specific consequence or example. The suggestion that government should prevent high land prices and improve suburban facilities is relevant, but its connection to whether tall blocks are the best solution could be clearer. To strengthen the response, explain the limits of apartment construction and support each main point with a concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting apartment blocks, a paragraph raising concerns, and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument easy to follow. You also use signposts such as “Furthermore,” “Moreover,” and “To conclude.” At times, however, the links feel mechanical, and ideas within paragraphs are not always connected clearly. For example, the point about residents feeling safer is followed by a confusing comparison involving open spaces and closed apartments. The shift from limited facilities to land prices and then suburban services also needs a clearer explanation. Group related points and use referencing or transitions that show how each sentence develops the previous one.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to housing and urban life, including “tall apartment blocks,” “construct,” “facilities,” “suburb areas,” and “afford.” This is enough to communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and some word combinations or forms are noticeably inaccurate. Examples include “much essential,” “a lot advantages,” “budget friendly,” and “life living here is quit reasonable.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less natural or precise. Aim to learn common collocations as complete phrases, such as “essential to build,” “several advantages,” and “cost-effective.” Vary repeated words such as “people,” “house,” and “build,” while keeping the wording accurate and appropriate to the topic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “if,” and “so that.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “Tall apartments did not required” needs a correctly formed verb, and “every one have their own house” has an agreement problem. The opening sentence also joins two independent ideas without suitable punctuation or a linking word. Work on checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and practise combining clauses accurately. More reliable control of these patterns would make your argument clearer without requiring more complicated sentences.
