Student answer (Band 4.5)

As global population is increasing constantly, it is also increasing burdon on goveronments for residency. The best method to tackle these issues is to build tall apartment blocks in the citites which can offer more space for people regardlessly taking only a small amount of place for building huge apartment. Many countries are offering tall apartments to people of the country for accomodation and from my point of view, it is a postive development. It also have some disadvantages.People from rural areas are migrating to cities in huge amount, resulting in lower accomodation. The only way to overcome this problem is to build tall apartment blocks for people to reside.

If people would start to build homes for their residency, there would be less space left for agricultrure and factories, resulting in inflamation and it would increase burden on goveronment officials to import eatable and garments from different countries. Customs and import duties are high at the moment and there would be more tax imposed on individual. Many individual are comfortable to live in apartment and they got no issues. When people would started to reside in apartment ratherthan their own home, they would be no chances of pressure on goveronment. Many people wishes to live in big apartment and to see views from above.

As immigration icreases,it also causes increase in more homes for accomadtion and more food for individual. The only resolution to this,is to increase agriculture and to build tall apartments. If there would be more numbers of homes in the cities,it would also increase food supply and garments demand.

Disadvantages of tall apartment is that many people are not comfortable to accomodate in higher altitudes and they could become furios about it. Many individual have sickness of height and it could results in anxiety among those people.

In summary, building tall apartment is only way to reduce number of homes and by offering better accomadation and there would enough land for agricultue and garments and food making factories and it would also increase jobs for individual.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You take a generally supportive position, stating that tall apartment blocks are “a positive development” and returning to this view in the conclusion. You also give relevant reasons, including preserving land for agriculture and factories, and mention that some people feel uncomfortable at height. However, the response only partially develops the task: several claims are unclear or insufficiently explained, such as how more city homes would “increase food supply,” and the discussion of taxes and imports is not clearly connected to the main argument. The disadvantages are briefly mentioned but not weighed against the benefits, so the extent of your agreement is not fully established. Develop fewer points with clearer explanations and a specific example to make your position more convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has an introduction, several body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can identify the broad topic in each section. However, ideas are not arranged in a consistently logical progression. The first paragraph repeats the claim that tall blocks are the solution, while later paragraphs move between immigration, agriculture, taxes, food and clothing without clear links. Connectors such as “As immigration increases” and “In summary” help signal movement, but some relationships remain confusing; for example, the claim that more homes would increase food supply is not explained. Use each paragraph to develop one main point, and add clear linking explanations between the point and its consequence. This would make the overall argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “apartment blocks,” “accommodation,” “agriculture,” “immigration” and “import duties,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, sometimes making the intended meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “lower accommodation” does not clearly express a shortage of housing, and “reduce number of homes” in the conclusion appears to contradict your argument. There are also repeated spelling errors, such as “burdon,” “goveronments” and “accomadtion.” Build a more accurate set of housing and urban-planning expressions, check spelling carefully, and choose words that express the intended relationship precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional forms such as “If people would start to build homes…” and clauses explaining consequences. However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries can make the argument difficult to read. Examples include “It also have some disadvantages,” “Many individual are comfortable,” and “When people would started to reside.” Several sentences also run together without appropriate punctuation, as in “Many individual are comfortable to live in apartment and they got no issues.” Practise forming accurate conditional sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, verb forms and articles. Shorter, correctly punctuated sentences would improve clarity while you build control of more complex patterns.
