Student answer (Band 5.5)

The wonderfull way to given better homes in larges cities is to build tall apartment blocks. I completely agree with build tall apartment blocks in big cities plan. This is because apartment are very affordable for every person and we can save the life of trees and plants and other pieces.

There are many reasons but the main reason is that through the apartment blocks poor people can ealy afford the due of apartments. That's why, major of people lead poor life even they do not separate separate homes. Apartments blocks price are very cheaper then the own separate home prices. A good example, delevoped countires like China, the USA and the UK residentance also like to apartments rather separate home, Moreover, In apartment block, people have many facilies like kichen and badroom and mulit rooms etc. Therefore build a tall apartment blocks for priveded separates home facilies for ever person is a great idea.

The second main reason is that when we build tall apartment blocks, we just need a one block, in one build, where have many blocks, many families live in a apartments in just one build, if we build separates homes for every person then we will not have spaces for trees and plants and other pieces likes birds and animals. For instance, Some countire have rules that people have responsiblity to save the birds and animals life and improve the atmosphere. Therefore, it's a best method for achieve these goals.

In conclusion, apartments blocks are very affordable and improve the atmosphere and save animals and brids life are mains reason to spport this plan.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You clearly state your position in the introduction (“I completely agree”) and maintain it in the conclusion. The response gives two relevant reasons: apartments may be more affordable, and building upwards can preserve land for trees and wildlife. These points address the question, and the examples about residents in China, the USA and the UK and rules to protect animals show an effort to support them. However, some support is unclear or general. For instance, the claim that apartment blocks are affordable is not explained with specific reasons such as shared land or construction costs, and the country example is asserted rather than demonstrated. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation and a more precise example to make the argument more convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. The sequence from affordability to environmental benefits is logical, and linking expressions such as “The second main reason,” “For instance” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. At times, however, cohesion feels mechanical because several sentences begin with “Therefore” or “That's why,” and some references are unclear, as in “where have many blocks.” The first body paragraph also moves from affordability to apartment facilities without clearly connecting that detail to the main claim. Use a wider range of linking methods, clarify what pronouns and phrases refer to, and make each paragraph develop one central idea consistently.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “apartment blocks,” “affordable,” “atmosphere,” and “responsibility,” so the reader can identify the main ideas. However, the range is limited and many word-choice, spelling and word-form errors make the writing less natural and sometimes difficult to interpret. Examples include “wonderfull,” “larges cities,” “ealy,” “delevoped countires,” and “facilies”; phrases such as “due of apartments” and “other pieces” are also unclear or unsuitable in context. Repetition of “apartment blocks” and “people” further restricts variety. Build accuracy with common collocations first, then use precise alternatives such as “housing costs,” “green space,” and “wildlife” where they fit.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a conditional contrast in “if we build separate homes … then we will not have spaces for trees.” This shows some range, and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, agreement, plurals and sentence construction. For example, “apartment are” needs a plural subject and verb, while “we just need a one block” has an unnecessary article. The sentence beginning “A good example” is not grammatically integrated, and “people have many facilities like kitchen and bedroom” needs clearer article and plural forms. Practise building accurate sentences with articles and subject–verb agreement, then check longer sentences for complete clauses and clear punctuation.
