Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's time numbers of skycreaper are in increasing day by day in metropolitan cities which is the best way to provide homes because it save a lot of land and price. I'm strongly agree with the view because high-rise buildings can accomodate more people in limited space. However, It can be some time dangerous to live.

The most strong advantage of this trend, tall apartment can occupied more people in small land. In other words, Skycreaper have to many numbers of floors due to which it contains large numbers of families in one single apartment. In additionally, tall apartment not just provide home in a small region but it also very reasonable to opt. For example, Nowaday's land prices are increasing day by day in cities because shortage of land area. In which an apartment makes a perfect budget options for a family. In result, apartment provide space for many families in a small area with affordable range.

The other advantage, apartment blocks can make public services more accessible. When many people live in the same area, it becomes easier to provide facilities such as public transport, schools, hospitals and shopping centres. this can reduce community distance and improve people quality of life.

Despite these advantages, high-rise building are become more dangerous in natural disasters. in other words, tall building loss there strength during earthquake situtation due to this it increase chances of breaking down. For example, i saw in a news channel that in 2020 earthquake arries in delhi in which 15 high-rise building was demolished due to strong frequency of earthquake. In result, thousands of people was injured and many people were dead.

In conclusion, I belive that tall apartment blocks can provide accomodation for many people in limited land with affordable price. However, it also become dangerous choice in natural disasters. Where goverment should apply restriction on high rise building for building to many floors.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you strongly support tall apartment blocks as a way to house more people, while acknowledging risks in disasters. You address both sides and give relevant reasons, including land efficiency, affordability, access to services, and earthquake danger. The examples help make the argument concrete, particularly the discussion of urban land prices. This meets the task well, but development is uneven: the public-services point is asserted rather than illustrated, and the earthquake example is presented without explaining how it supports restrictions on building height. To strengthen the response further, explain the conditions under which high-rise housing is effective and develop the counterargument and your final recommendation more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs supporting high-rise housing, a paragraph on its risks, and a conclusion. This gives the reader a logical route through your position, and signposts such as “However” and “Despite these advantages” help distinguish the opposing point. Some linking is mechanical or inaccurate, however. “In other words” introduces a restatement rather than a clear explanation, while “In result” is repeated and does not connect the conclusions naturally. The opening of the public-services paragraph, “The other advantage,” is also incomplete as a transition. Use a wider range of precise links and make references between sentences clearer; this would make the progression smoother and less formulaic.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “high-rise buildings,” “public transport,” “natural disasters,” and “earthquake,” so the reader can follow the main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “limited space” and “quality of life.” However, the range is limited by repeated words such as “apartment,” “people,” and “building,” and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to interpret. For example, “community distance” does not clearly express the intended benefit, and “strong frequency of earthquake” is not a natural description. Spelling errors such as “skycreaper” and “accomodate” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of precise housing and urban-planning expressions, and check spelling and collocations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast clause beginning “Despite these advantages” and a conditional-style explanation of how shared services can be provided. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation sometimes make the meaning harder to follow. For instance, “tall apartment can occupied” needs a correctly formed verb phrase, while “high-rise building are become” has problems with both agreement and verb form. The final sentence beginning “Where government should…” is a fragment rather than a complete sentence. Practise forming accurate subject–verb patterns and complete clauses first, then combine them using subordinate clauses. Careful proofreading for capitalisation and sentence boundaries would also improve clarity.
