Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's comtemporary world, living in a black of apartment or in house is the basic need for every citizen which might be provided by the authority. It is highly held view that building tall blacks of apartment is the best alternative to provide enough homes for public in large cities. I strongly agree with this point of view because tall building can accommudated thousand of people at the same time which save valuable space and budget in larger cities.
On the one hand, constructing substantial tall building in big cities can provide comparatively enough homes for public which save valuable space. To elaborate further, larger cities are often composed of many tall buildings which is mainly used for businesses and trades. Therefore, there is often not enought space to construct a larger homes just like houses in rural areas. Furthermore, making tall blocks of apartment can also save a significant amound of funds in terms of rent as well as in terms of constructing cost. For instance, big cities like New York, Milan, and Washington DC have tall buildings blocks which not only accommudated million of people but also run substantial figure of businesses.
On the other hand, tall apartment blocks in big cities can also offer the chance for agriculture in cities area which are easy to cultivate vegetables and fruits as well as then brings them easily to the local market to purchase them. As a result of this, farmers can have enough area for cultivation in big cities without going to countrysides. Moreover, tall apartment blacks can also consume a wide range of workers whose work in big cities and support their families and children in back in their home in village. To cite an example, the most famous city Milan, Italy has a large building which has plants in their balconies as well as it accommudate million of overses for living and for working.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that constructing tall apartments blocks offer so many advantages such as save enought space and substantial money for both rest and for construcing. Likewise, accommudating million of people in just a small place which is also help to save area for agriculture and also to consume million of workers in apartments whose work in big cites.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes in large cities. The first main point—that high-rise housing accommodates many residents while using less land—is relevant, and the New York, Milan and Washington examples attempt to support it. However, the response only partly develops the task: the second body paragraph shifts to urban agriculture and employment, rather than explaining why high-rise blocks are the best housing solution. The claim that balconies enable farming is not clearly connected to providing enough homes, and the examples remain general. To strengthen the response, develop two direct reasons, explain how each addresses housing demand, and use specific, credible examples. A brief acknowledgement of limitations or alternatives would also make your position more fully considered.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion that restates your view. This gives the reader a basic route through the argument. However, progression is uneven: the second body paragraph moves from agriculture to workers and their families without clearly showing how these points support the central claim about housing. Some linking phrases, including “As a result of this” and “Likewise,” signal connections that are not fully explained, while repeated references to tall blocks make the writing feel repetitive. Organise each body paragraph around one clear reason, then connect its explanation and example explicitly to the question. Clearer referencing and more purposeful transitions would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt some topic-appropriate vocabulary, including “valuable space,” “constructing cost,” “cultivate,” and “local market,” and you use terms related to housing and city life. However, the range is limited by repeated wording such as “tall building,” “big cities,” and “accommodate,” and several inaccurate choices or collocations make parts difficult to understand. For example, “consume a wide range of workers” does not express the intended idea, and “save a significant amount of funds in terms of rent” is unclear. Spelling and word-form errors such as “comtemporary,” “accommudated,” and “overses” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of housing and urban-planning expressions, and check spelling and collocations so your meaning is consistently clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, using structures such as “because tall building can…” and “which not only… but also…”. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, articles, plurals and verb forms sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “tall building can accommodated,” “which save valuable space,” and “larger cities are… which is mainly used”; the subjects and verbs do not agree, and verb forms are inconsistent. The final sentence also lacks a clear grammatical structure. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and checking articles and plural nouns, then use subordinate clauses only when you can control their structure. More reliable sentence construction would make your ideas much clearer.
