Student answer (Band 5.0)

In metropolitian cities to provide sufficient homes, the best way is to build tall apartment blocks. I strongly agree with this statement. According, to my perspective it provides accessibility opportuinity and flexibility for people to have their own houses.

Metropolitian cities being the fastest growing hub in different aspects such as technology and people. Having a house is highly reliable and accessible. As it gives better ammenities to people, bring in an safer environment and secure your future prospects. In recent times people are choosing apartments because it doesn't have much chores involved and keeps your family together.

Apartment gives you an opportuinity to have your own home. A space that you can have it all by yourself. In this generation people choose an apartment insteat of a villa because it is cost effective, have gated communities for safety of family members.Tall apartment blocks gives everyone a sense of security and independent if someone is leaving their family and residing in a completely new city.

The flats also come with flexibility with the choice of two and three bedrooms which can be bought according to the future or the family that will move in. Families can interact with neighbour and have good bonding as these things are restricted if having an independent house. In recent times I came across an article where having tall aparment blocks is increasing due to people migrating from different parts of the world.

In conclusion, Building taller apartments blocks will give better opportuinities to people who wants to reside and start life from scratch. it is flexible as it is better ammenities and provides safer options.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear from the opening: “I strongly agree,” and the response stays focused on apartment living in large cities. You give relevant reasons, including affordability, security, flexibility in bedroom choice, and the needs of people moving to a new city. However, the task asks whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes, and several points explain why apartments may suit residents rather than how high-rise construction increases housing supply. The reference to an article is also too general to support the claim. Develop a smaller number of reasons with specific explanation or examples, and consider a limitation or comparison with other housing approaches to make the argument more fully supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an identifiable introduction, body paragraphs and conclusion, and the ideas are generally grouped by topic: convenience and security, then apartment features and community. Basic links such as “In conclusion” help signal the structure. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the second paragraph moves from city growth to amenities, safety and chores without showing how each point supports the central claim. Some connections are also awkward or missing, as in “Families can interact with neighbour” followed immediately by a contrast with independent houses. Use clearer topic sentences, explain the relationship between each supporting point and housing supply, and use referencing and linking phrases more precisely to create a more consistent line of argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “gated communities,” “migrating,” “bedrooms” and “cost effective,” which helps communicate your ideas about urban housing. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “opportunity,” “people” and “apartment.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “metropolitian,” “ammenities,” “opportuinity” and “inst[e]at,” as well as unnatural combinations like “bring in an safer environment” and “better opportunities.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Build a more precise range for discussing housing supply, density and affordability, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “which can be bought according to the future or the family that will move in.” However, sentence structures are often incomplete or faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some ideas difficult to follow. For example, “Metropolitian cities being the fastest growing hub” is a fragment, while “Apartment gives you an opportuinity” and “Tall apartment blocks gives” show problems with articles and subject–verb agreement. The final sentence, “it is flexible as it is better ammenities,” is also structurally unclear. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles, plurals and punctuation when editing.
