Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, owning a house in large cities is a growing concern. Many people agree with the statement that the best possible solution for this issue is to build high residential apartment blocks. As per my opinion, I strongly agree with this statement on the badsis of some points which i will describe in further paragraphs.

Firstly, land availability is a major issue. Large cities for example, Delhi and Mumbai don't have large land area. Lacs of people every year came to these cities in search of job and carrer. However, every person cannot build their house in these cities because land is not available and if it is then the cost is crores for single acer which a normal person cannot buy. In this case, tall apartment blocks provides already builded houses at a resonable price according to area. The most favorable reason for low price is that a building does not recquire big land area. It can be built in small area by building houses on one upon one.

Secondly, building tall apartment blocks is nature friendly. This is because these blocks don't recquire large land area so due to it there is no need to cut thousands of trees for building these aprtment blocks. Moreover, hundreds of people live together so there is a single drainage system for all of them rather then having many pipes under the ground. As a result ground system also don't get pollute. Another big example of this is Grugram city.

In conclusion, this statement is true which is have described with some suitable reasons. Thus, building tall apartment blocks came with a lot of benifits for both individual and enviroment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that tall apartment blocks are the best solution, and the conclusion restates this view. You give two relevant reasons—limited land and environmental benefits—and support the first with examples of Delhi and Mumbai and the high cost of land. This addresses the task, but the reasons are not equally developed: the environmental point relies on broad claims about tree loss and drainage, while the example of Gurugram is named without explaining how it supports the argument. To strengthen the response, explain the effects of each point more fully and acknowledge a limitation or alternative, such as the need for good transport and services in high-rise areas. The position and relevant support are established, but development is not yet consistently thorough.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs organised around separate reasons, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Moreover,” and “As a result” help readers follow the argument. However, some links feel mechanical, and a few connections between claims are not fully explained. For example, the statement that shared drainage means the “ground system” does not get polluted needs a clearer explanation of the cause-and-effect relationship. The Gurugram example also appears abruptly at the end of the paragraph. Use referencing and transitions more precisely, and connect examples directly to the point they illustrate. The organisation is coherent, though cohesion is not yet consistently flexible or smooth.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “land availability,” “residential apartment blocks,” and “drainage system,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “badsis,” “carrer,” “acer,” “builded,” and “benifits.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “one upon one” and “came with a lot of benefits.” These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they make parts of it less clear and polished. Build a more accurate range of collocations for housing and urban planning, and proofread spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help express the environmental and affordability arguments clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if it is then the cost is crores” and a reason clause beginning “This is because.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make ideas harder to follow. For example, “tall apartment blocks provides” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “every year came to these cities” uses an incorrect verb form. The conclusion’s “which is have described” is also difficult to interpret grammatically. Punctuation and spacing are uneven, particularly in the opening. Practise accurate sentence patterns and check agreement and verb forms, while continuing to use complex clauses. Greater accuracy would make your argument easier to read.
