Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often to argued that the best way to provide enogh homes in a major cites is to build tall apartment blocks. While others believe that single story houses are better. However i firmly believe that building a tall apartments ia a superior way to offers a residence.
To begin with, there are several reasons why i agree with this statement, The first one is, in main cities we do not have that much land to provide a rench houses thats why we build a high-rise apartments. And living a tower block have a significants advantages. Apartments towers are more affordable then ground level housing for instance, you do not need to pay for several peoples alone this is becouse every tall apartments have there own security guard, A car parking, a gardner and for a cleaner. Furtheremore, In apartments towers you can enjoy a beautiful views from your balcony.
on the other hand, tall buildings have some disadvantages, there is a very high risk during an emergency. For example, if a fire breaks out in an apartment building, it is very difficult to evacuate, furthermore if you are in a lift and suddenly electricity is turned off so in this case you will be definetly face a serious issues.
In conclusion,it would be quite true to say that the advantages of creating a high-rise apartments is over weigh then its disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you support tall apartment blocks, and you give relevant reasons, including limited land in cities and the shared costs of services. You also acknowledge disadvantages such as fire evacuation and lift failure, so the response addresses both sides of the issue. However, the supporting ideas are brief and sometimes unclear: the point about residents sharing costs needs a more precise explanation, and the view in favour of houses is mentioned but not developed. The conclusion repeats your preference without weighing the arguments. The response is 18 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your reasons and examples. Extend the main points with specific explanation or an example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting apartments, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. This makes the main direction easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “For example,” and “In conclusion.” However, some connections are mechanical or confusing. The introduction says “While others believe…” followed by “However,” without clearly linking the contrast, and “on the other hand” introduces disadvantages even though the earlier paragraph has not clearly established a balanced comparison. Several ideas are joined in long sentences with unclear relationships. Use paragraph topic sentences and connect each reason to its explanation more directly; clearer referencing would also help readers follow points about shared services and emergency risks.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “high-rise apartments,” “land,” “evacuate,” and “emergency,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “rench houses,” “a significants advantages,” “beautiful views,” and “over weigh then its disadvantages.” Some phrases, such as “a car parking” and “several peoples alone,” do not express the intended meaning naturally. Spelling errors such as “enogh,” “becouse,” and “definetly” are also noticeable. Build a more accurate set of housing and urban-planning expressions, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would make your reasons clearer without requiring more complicated language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if a fire breaks out,” and you use clauses to explain reasons. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “the best way … is to build” is preceded by the incorrect form “It is often to argued,” while “building a tall apartments … offers” has problems with articles, number, and verb agreement. Other examples include “living a tower block have” and “you will be definetly face.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, particularly where several ideas are joined with commas. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, plurals, and verb patterns, then proofread each sentence for a complete and correctly punctuated structure.
