Student answer (Band 6.0)
In contemporary society , the issue of providing adequate housing facility in large cities has sparked considerable debate , and the notion that building tall apartments block is the best way to solve this problem . while some people often argue that other housing ideas are more effective , I completely agree with this assertion because tall buildings accomodate more peole and make efficient use of urban land .
The most compelling reason behind my view is that tall apartments blocks of building can provide large accommodation for a large number of people in a relatively small area. This is primarily attributed to large increasing population and migration of population from rural areas to urban land for the purpose of good lifestyle and earning . A clear illustration of this is that mostly people from rural background face difficulties in achieving good job opportunities that's why they migrated to urban area . Consequently , this approach makes better use of limited urban land and helps meet the demand of increasing accommodation.
Another convincing justification for this stance is that apartment blocks can make accommodation much more convenient and affordable . This is due to the fact that shared facilities such as lifts , parking area and security system can reduce the cost of providing individual services. A prime example of this is that complex building they share common public facilities like parking, lifts , and transportation. As a result this is best option to provide accommodation with shared good facilities in much more affordable and convenient way.
Addmittedly, propoents often argue that taller building blocks can create overcrowding and reduce person's quality of life. Living in high - rise buildings may also limit excess to private gardens and open spaces, while poorly designed apartments can suffer from poor ventilation . However these problems are not avoidable .
In conclusion , I strongly agree that building tall apartment block is the best way to provide sufficient housing in large cities . because it makes better use of urban land in much efficient way. Neverthless, high rise construction should be combined with thoughtful urban planning and alternative ousing solutions to ensure that cities remain affordable , cheap, and safe place to live.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you completely agree that tall apartment buildings are the best solution. You give two relevant reasons—housing more people on limited land and sharing facilities to reduce costs—and include examples related to rural-to-urban migration and shared amenities. This addresses the task, but the support is uneven. The first example explains why people move to cities more than it demonstrates how high-rise housing meets demand, while the affordability point is asserted rather than supported with a specific illustration. You also acknowledge concerns about overcrowding and open space, but dismiss them as “not avoidable” without explaining how planning could address them. Develop these points more fully and make the examples directly support your claims.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two supporting paragraphs, a counterargument and a conclusion. The progression from land efficiency to shared facilities is logical, and signposts such as “The most compelling reason” and “Another convincing justification” help readers follow the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “A prime example of this is that complex building they share…” does not clearly identify who “they” refers to, and “As a result” introduces a conclusion that largely repeats the preceding claim. The counterargument is brief and its final sentence does not clearly connect to the conclusion. Use clearer referencing and explain how each example supports the paragraph’s main point; vary linking devices rather than relying on formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “adequate housing,” “urban land,” “shared facilities,” “overcrowding,” and “ventilation.” These choices show awareness of the subject and generally allow your meaning to be understood. However, inaccurate word forms, spelling and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make phrases awkward, such as “apartments block,” “large accommodation,” “good lifestyle,” and “alternative ousing solutions.” There is also repetition of “accommodation,” “facilities” and “best way,” which limits flexibility. Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling carefully. For instance, use “high-rise apartment blocks,” “housing for a large number of residents,” and “access to green space.” More precise vocabulary would make your argument clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “This is primarily attributed to…” and a concession introduced by “while.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors remain across the response. For example, “the notion that building tall apartments block is the best way” is an incomplete sentence, and “people from rural background… they migrated” shifts awkwardly between present and past forms. There are also problems with articles, plurals and agreement, as in “a large number of people” followed by “tall apartments blocks,” and punctuation sometimes joins or separates clauses incorrectly. Review sentence boundaries and maintain consistent tense. Editing for complete sentences and accurate singular/plural forms would improve control while preserving your attempts at complex structures.
