Student answer (Band 5.0)

In contemporary society, the notion that homes in large cities has sparked considerable debate. While some contend that build tall apartment blocks in the cities. I compeletly disagree with this assertion, I am firmly convinced that provide comforetable homes to people in cities.

The most compelling reason behind my view is that enough homes provide more sapce in cities. This is primarily attributed to the fact that homes make a good environment in cities rather than big apartments. A clear illustration of this is creat a positive impact on people's mental health. Consequently, this is more beneficial for society. Therefore, It is evident that small homes make a citiy clean and polution free.

Another, convencing justification for this stance is enough homes save land sapce, which can people use for agriculture or playing area for childern. This is due to the fact is people proctect their physical health. A prime example of this is more beneficial for healthy life. As a result, cities make more development.

Admittedly, proponents often argue that big apartments provide more facilities for people. However, this argument is myopic on the grounds that it fail to consider modern apartments give gym facilitiy and pool area also. In reality, if government provide same policies to people for their apartments to maintain cities. Hence, this contention is ultimately unpersuasive.

In conclusion, I would argue that homes are peacefull rather than big apartments is paramount due to its positive affects on people's lives. Therefore, it is imperative that enough homes make people's life esay, but big apartments creat a more noise on the grounds that it is decidedly more beneficial for society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a clear position—“I completely disagree”—and include two body paragraphs plus a counterargument, so the response has a basic attempt to address the question. However, the reasons do not consistently answer whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes. Claims such as “enough homes provide more space” and “small homes make a city clean” are unclear or unsupported, and the discussion of land for agriculture does not explain how this would house more residents. The counterargument about facilities is also not answered with a clear comparison. To strengthen the response, explain what alternative housing approach you support and develop each reason with a specific, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response is divided into an introduction, two main paragraphs, a counterargument and a conclusion, which gives it some recognisable organisation. Linking expressions such as “Consequently,” “Admittedly” and “In conclusion” also show an effort to guide the reader. However, there is no clear progression from the main claim to supporting evidence: several sentences repeat broad claims or do not connect logically, such as “A prime example of this is more beneficial for healthy life.” Connectors are sometimes used mechanically, and “Another” does not function naturally as a transition here. Build each paragraph around one clear point, then explain it and give a relevant example; use referencing and transitions only where they clarify the relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt some topic-related and evaluative vocabulary, including “compelling reason,” “mental health,” “facilities” and “myopic.” These choices show an effort to move beyond very basic wording. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled expressions make meaning less clear, including “comforetable,” “sapce,” “polution” and “convencing.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “homes provide more space” and “make a more noise.” Aim for accurate collocations and precise housing vocabulary rather than repeating “homes,” “big apartments” and “beneficial.” For example, you could refer to “low-rise housing,” “residential density” or “green space” where these terms match your intended point.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer sentences, including a concession beginning “Admittedly, proponents often argue…” and a conditional sentence beginning “if government provide…”. However, control is weak: sentence fragments and faulty clause structures occur frequently, as in “While some contend that build tall apartment blocks in the cities” and “A clear illustration of this is creat a positive impact.” Verb forms and agreement are also often inaccurate, for example “it fail to consider” and “government provide.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and finite verb, and check agreement and verb forms. More accurate control of basic structures should come before adding complex clauses.
