Student answer (Band 5.5)
Large cities are more condense now a days because it has large population. Finding houses for living have been one the main issues in cities. Therefore, most people believed that tall apartment blocks is the solution of this problem. I am completely agree with this statement. In my opinion, this is not the only solution but this could minimize the housing problem for residents.
First of all, people are continuesly moving to large cities because it has more opportunities for younger generation. people whom lived there may don't suffer from such situations but migrants individuals are facing such problems continuously. Moreover, to avoid such situations government should provide some financial incentives to build houses for immigrants students or workers such as tall apartment blocks.
secondly, tall apartments occupied minimum land but has singnificant amount of space such as, if the apartment is has 4 blocks so definitely it provides space for eight residents.
In addition, facilities such as lift, water, gas and electricity should be provided in tall building. these facilities can make their life easier.
From my perspective, tall buildings is the solution if it is design properly. apart from tall buildings another solution is small houses instead of large and luxury houses. government should built all the houses likewise such as in Germany you can owned the houses but not designed your house because it is government responsibility to provide space and house design so in this way non of the individual in Germany is homeless.
In conclusion, to provide homes for large population tall building blocks is best way and residents should corporate with government to avoid these types of problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment blocks can help, while acknowledging they are not the only solution. You give relevant reasons, including accommodating more residents on less land and providing facilities, and you add small houses as an alternative. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that Germany has no homeless people because the government controls housing design is broad and needs a reliable, relevant explanation; the example about four blocks providing space for eight residents is also unclear. Develop these points with specific reasoning or a more convincing example, and explain more fully how apartment construction would address affordability and access. This would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has an overall structure, moving from an introduction to reasons, an alternative, and a conclusion. Paragraphing and signposts such as “First of all,” “Moreover,” and “In addition” help readers follow the main points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and some links between ideas are unclear. For instance, the discussion shifts from migration to government incentives without explaining how the incentive scheme would work, while the Germany example appears abruptly. References such as “these situations” and “it” are not always precise. Group related ideas more clearly, use transitions that show the relationship between claims, and ensure each paragraph develops one central point before moving on.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “financial incentives,” “migrants,” “residents,” and “housing problem,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes meaning less clear. Examples include “more condense,” “houses for living,” “tall building blocks,” and “residents should corporate with government.” Spelling errors such as “continuesly” and “singnificant” also reduce accuracy. Aim to learn common housing-related collocations and check word forms and spelling. More precise expressions would help distinguish between building density, housing supply, affordability, and residents’ cooperation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional idea in “if it is design properly” and a relative clause in “people whom lived there.” This shows some range, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “I am completely agree” should be “I completely agree,” and “tall apartment blocks is” needs plural agreement. In “if the apartment is has 4 blocks,” the verb pattern is faulty, while “people whom lived there may don’t suffer” combines incompatible forms. Some sentences remain understandable, but these errors make parts difficult to follow. Practise accurate clause patterns and check subject–verb agreement and verb forms when editing.
